Not keen on barbeque's so will be cooking indoors but taking it out and eating in the garden at the weekend - much nicer IMO.

I also make kebabs now I'm veggie... these are peppers, onions, mushrooms, courgetts, aubergines, and tonight will also be halloumi. I marinate the veg with oil, garlic, ginger, chilli. Only takes afew mins.
O/h has the traditional burgers, sausages, fish on the bbq is gorgeous though (from when I used to eat it), we used to have special fish holders for fillets. I don't really agree with chicken drumsticks ona bbq as they nevber cook through and need oven cooking first becomes pointless. Sides are bread- french stick or rolls, pasta salad, coleslaw, potatoes boiled new, corn on the cob done on bbq, green salad, tomatoes and onions and mozarella with oil and basil. anything else I can make really. |

Aubergine does well on a barbie. I also like sardines, prawns ( big 'uns) and a nice fat rump steak.

I'll go for sausages. Not the most adventurous but even crappy cheapo sausages can taste nice off the bbq.
Obviously many things are nice. Steaks, chicken, chops but usually it's the marinade that adds to the flavour. A nice one I had last year was a spicy minted lamb steak from a local farm shop. Will be going again this year to get their bbq packs. |

I love being adventurous in my eating. However for BBQs I like the simple things in life. Burgers and sausages for hotdogs. Bit of salad, coleslaw and potato salad.
No need for anything too funky. |

I really enjoy doing a carvery sort of thing if you can be bothered. Either:
Slice of rump cut across the whole rump about an inch thick marinated overnight in a whisky marinade and the bbq for about 15 mins each side. Then slice really thinly - delicious OR Leg of lamb boned out but not rolled and marinaded overnight in rosemary, lemon and olive oil and then bbq for about 20 mins each side (or a bit longer) OR BOTH!!! Hope the weather holds |

my uncle does half a pig twice in the summer, cooks it low and slow on a massive homemade bbq pit for 12+ hours and my god its good, falls apart and you stuff a bun with it and ladel on bbq sauce and coleslaw and some of the crackling for the best pulled pork ever.

I might get one in tomorrow, we can't do today as we are out at the local Cypriot restaurant tonight, but I bet we'll eat some lovely kebabs (souvlaki) anyway.

Okay, you can get away with doing it like that but I have a special barrel-shaped oven. It has four layers for charcoal/briquettes and three layers for pizzas (so they get heat from above and below and you can put something on the very top (e.g. kebabs wrapped in foil).Once it gets up to a proper heat, you can really crank out the pizzas, great for "bbq pizza parties". Can make like 80 pizzas in one hour |

I don't like BBQ food, all those insects flying around. Much better to cook inside and eat in the garden.I know there is still insects outside but much easier to spot them.
