Hi

I cancelled an Orange month to month sim in November.

Today I got a call from them asking to speak to me about the account. They first asked me questions to identify I was the account holder so I told them as they called me how am I to know who they are and so trust them with security details etc so the guy said he couldn't continue the call.

Anyway the guy told me there was an important issue with my account so I told him to write to me, he said they couldn't do that.

Out of curiosity I logged into my old orange account and found they have been charging me since November and the mast 2 invoices are unpaid.

Yes I know I should have checked my bank statements more carefully!

Anyway, I know they gave me a reference number when I quit but that was 6 months ago and now I don't have it. So does anybody know where I stand? I know I cancelled it so I don't see why I should have to pay, yet I don't want them to damage my credit score.

Thanks for any help!

Its a tricky one, are you sure that the number you got wasn't just a PAC ? Which expire if you don't use them within 30 days.

If you are sure you cancelled then write to them setting out the facts as you see them. Keep it concise and be honest with them. As they may well argue that a person who had cancelled would reasonably be expected to notice that they were still paying.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

It was defiantly a cancellation not PAC request.

Like you say, paying for 6 months doesn't look great and as I don’t have the ref number they gave me I suppose it's a waste of time arguing as it’s my word against theirs.

Well I've just called Orange and was amazed...They've agreed to a full refund.

Shocked!
