I like to view the morning newspaper reviews on Sky Sunrise, freeview channel (82). To ensure I catch both reviews, one at 0640 and the other at 0740 (approx), I enter the details into the Recording Schedule and select to record Daily , but quite recently, although the details for each of the reviews were identical in the schedule (apart from the times, of course), only one review has been recorded for the past week or two. I have tried deleting them from the schedule and re-entering them, but without any improvement. Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem, please.

Two suggestions, based on the assumption you manually entered the timings,

Did you ensure the finish times were correct and the first recording did not overlap the start of the second - or the end time of the second did not mean you were trying to stop before you started, if you see what I mean.

Have you got enough hard disc space ? If you were trying to record from, say, 7.40 to 6.55, it may have assumed a 23+ hour recording and refused to do it. You may also be very close to completely filling the disc.

The settings held in the Schedule list were working OK until the a couple of weeks ago, then, for no obvious reason, one of the settings failed to record.

I usually switch the Humax off using the remote control. In the Off condition it used to show the time of day on the display, but I have noticed that there are only a row of dashes on the display where once the time numerals showed. example: [b] _ _ _ _ _ _[/B

I have plenty of disc spcae left, about 80Gb

That sounds as if the clock module has failed. If so the box won't know what time it is in sby so can't make timed recordings. If you leave it on it should work as it gets the time from the broadcasts.

That sometimes happens to me on my much older 8000T. When putting into standby the clock doesn't show, just dashes. I think the problem happens when coming out of standby with the hard drive not initializing properly because in this condition I can't hear it (the hard drive spinning) or make recordings/pause play etc.

Turning off completely with the switch on the back (don't know about your model, you can always unplug it), waiting 30secs and turning back on always cures it for me. This shouldn't lose your settings but your schedules may be lost.

There is a thread about the 9200 clock display problem, plus solution here...

Could be worth a try.

When the Humax is switched on and showing a programme, either live or playing back a recording, the correct time is shown on the display, it is only when I have switched the machine off using the remote control, which I assume leaves it in Standby (I never use the on/off button on the front of the machine, and I only pull the plug if it freezes up) that the dashes appear on the display. I forgot to mention in my op that a small clockface symbol is also visible on the display

That's exactly what happen when the clock module fails. When on, the time is delivered to the display from the broadcast data. When in sby as there is no tuner active the box relies on the clock module to remember the time and update the display. If it fails you get the dashes. If I remember rightly the clock symbol simply means you have recording reservations. Powering off the machine gives the same symptoms because you have powered down the clock module so you need to boot the box to reset the time.

If the box does not know what the time is it cannot make recordings from sby.

For some inexplicable reason it has started showing the time again while in Standby mode. Whether that will last, only time (Ha Ha) will tell.
