So who are you suggesting is "the most talented contestant"? A girl with no star quality, who can't move more than two inches coherently while singing and who can't quite hit the high notes she strains for even when standing still?

I thought it was a bit off that the judges thought Pia would never have been the one to have been booted. Plus, all the audience booing. Stefano probably felt like shit.

I would have loved Ryan to have actually asked the judges who they thought should have gone home.

I hope the judges all react in a shocked way each week from now on, seeing as they've been applauding all the Idols for being 'beautiful' 'amazing' 'unique' etc, so surely, not one of them would be worthy of going home.

And, I wonder how 'revolutionary' Randy thinks Casey and his bass are now...?

As for Haley and Lauren supposedly grinning after Pia was announced as the one going home, I would rather suggest that they had mixed emotions about the whole thing and were firstly happy to welcome Stefano back to the couch, before registering their sadness/disbelief at Pia going home. Haley was upset and gestured to the audience to cheer for Pia, after she did her sing-out.

I shouldn't imagine they were sitting there saying 'Yes!!! She's out!!!'

It's got be pretty awkward for the other ones in the B2/B3 to be declared safe and go back to the couches to the others, who will be happy for that person to be safe, but also sad for the person who is going home.

Still, it all made for another good results show

I agree with that, to use the save so early was just stupid.

I'd say Pia is more reliant on her voice while Casey is more reliant on his peronality.

This is supposed to be a singing competition.

If the save was still there, but not used on Pia, I wouldn't mind so much. I don't think Casey's a bad singer at all, but I don't think the save should've been used on him. Not his fault, but the judges can't really say the public have got it wrong when they didn't use the save on the singing.

I've watched the clip over and over on youtube, not once did she "wipe tears from her face"

No it isn't. The biggest Idol joke in years was when the judges gave this unremarkable singer and non-existent performer with charisma below the scale a standing ovation for her first live show performance.



They used their save on a worthy contestant who had a lot more to offer. Pia on the other hand showed her performance "skills" on something other than the regular ballads this week and was found seriously wanting.



Fooled? :yawn: I wondered how long it would be before someone suggested it was a fix. Give me strength. Did you see the judges? They may be a lot of things but Oscar winning actors they are not. Besides, what would be the benefit of eliminating a contestant as favoured by the panel as Pia?

I totally agree except for the bit about Pia relaxing to show more personality. It's impossible to show under any circumstances something that was so evidently not there at any stage. Not at audition, not in Hollywood week, not on the VTs, not in the group numbers, never.

Pia was one reason I was glad the save had gone. The other is James. The two most overrated contestants in Idol history.


His fans are rampant voters on polls, that's all. You only have to look at Twitter and Facebook to know that.

He can be pimped all they like but the vast majority of the audience are neither blind nor deaf and can see a cheesy performance and hear a bad vocal. He isn't being called Sanjayadam for nothing.

Actually, it's supposed to be a talent show. Pia can sing but so can all of them. The difference is some of them have other talents and a modicum of personality.



Watch Haley when Casey was (briefly) performing to be saved and she is crying through what looks like a smile. It's clearly the way her face goes when she's crying. You'd be hardpressed to convince Pia's handful of fans of that though. Still, they claim that it's the show and others that have an agenda.

Of course, Scotty can sing the same country songs every week in his monotone voice yet Pia isn't able to do ballads even though none of the same are of a similar style unlike the country tracks. I feel exactly the same about him. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but I just can't get past that. I'm not crazy on him vocally either, but I just find him so unlikable.

I actually keep waiting for him to slip up when he's on the screen, and say something that he shouldn't.

He was 16 when that happened, sorry but I'm not going to condem a kid because of some misjudged actions. And the public reaction to it is hardly his fault.

I have to laugh at Pia's fans taking her elimination out on others - Scotty and Casey in particular. Ridiculous. Pia was eliminated because she was the most overrated singer in the history of the competition and the dullest finalist (both in performance and personality) for years. Live with it.

I agree that no other contestants should be blamed. I wasn't a massive Pia fan but I do think she should've lasted longer, and I do think she's more talented than most in the competition...and if the judges hadn't been so quick to use the save they may have used it on her.

Is this a joke post to bait others posters because I can see no other reason to make such OTT comments. You only have to look at the reaction of the three judges to see how they rate her but perhaps they are all wrong and she was the most overrated singer in the history of the show. I think I have more faith in their judgement.

For the love of everything that is good please let Scotty play his guitar when he performs because the way he moves around and the way he holds his mike and tilt his head drive me insane.

The only one who comes within a million miles of telling it how it is is Randy and even he has all but stopped since constantly being booed by the audience and shamefully the other judges. They're killing to show. I hope this is their first and last year.

I suppose it's possible that people thought she'd be safe, particularly her established fans, so they didn't bother to vote in significant numbers, which is what was said to have happened with Chris Daughtry.

Votefair.org has been reasonably accurate with predicting the bottom 2, and currently has Jacob and Stefano lowest. Last week they had Pia taking the lead, after James and Scotty had been exchanging first places. Something more than singing an uptempo song like a machine must've gone wrong with Pia's voting.

Well her fans was probably the most delusional bunch anyway, this would actually confirm that.

Daughtry elimination was quite shock, but the competition was fierce then, and anyone could have been gone.

By far the biggest shock to date is Michael Johns elimination @ 8 in season 7, then Hudson, LaToya and Fantasia being bottom 3 in Top 7 and LaToya and Fantasia bottom two in Top 4.
