Hi anyone out there a little more conversant with Opera Mini web browser than i am? It seems to have a mind of it's own as to the way it displays web pages.

One minute it gives me a full screen with a block you can move and hover over part of the screen you want to zoom in on. The next minute, it gives the same page in one line format where you have to scroll down forever to get to the part you want to get to.

Is there any way to keep the full page view with the zoom option? Any help graciously appreciated. Thanks.

There is a Mobile View option in the settings (or press 1 for the context menu). Note that some websites will override your choice as they think they know best.

You, Sir, are a total genuis (i presume you are a sir!) Mobile View had a tick in the box, so i unticked it.... et Voila - full screen display.
