N X M and Mike, good to see I have fellow Stefano fans on board! I avree about song choice, but more for this week than last. Tiny Dancer was perfect for him, but WAMLAW was too dated a song, although he did really well with it. I hate how he's being blamed for Pia's elimination. The people doing the blaming should have put in a few more votes for Pia! I'd vote for Stefano, but although I think there is a way of voting from England, I can't remember how lol

Pia didn't really stand out as a performer (as opposed to singer) but she stood out in a better way than Paul, Casey and Haley whose voices don't seem strong enough to take them all the way, and she was no less "boring or one sided" than Jacob or Scotty (who I do also like).

A James, Scotty and Lauren final 3 would be good, but throwing Stefano in the mix somewhere would be even better!

Am i right in thinking that the American public still don't have to pay to vote?

As long as this is the case you always have the (IMHO) idiots who sit with their fingers on the redial button for 2 hours or more

It's actually a shame that Pia, Karen and Ashthon, who had potential that they were ready to fulfil, didn't outlast Haley, who I don't get att all - let alone some of the guys. Thia wasn't ready to hit the big time, and Naima's voice wasn't consistent enough.

Loved Lauren Turner, what with all the girls seeming so unpopular, how could she not have made it through? She could do what Haley's trying to do, a hell of a lot better. She just didn't look so glamorous.

I do like Lauren Alaina too, and reckon she'll be around for a while yet. We'll lose a few guys before we lose her.

Also, I wouldn't have bothered saving Casey. I may have considered Karen, but it would've beena bit early for the save when she polled the lowest votes. Pia would have deserved it much more than Casey. I may have another contestant in mind too, but the American public and most of DS would not be impressed lol

Totes agree! I think she should have done something about her image before she went on - not because she should, or I think she's hideous, but purely because people will vote based on appearance, unfortunately. If she had picked perhaps a less angry song and styled herself different people might have paid more attention.

I agree, it's a shame that the likes of Casey and Paul can get away with looking unconventional but Lauren T couldn't. Wish she was eligible to reaudition, but hopefully she'll get something out of her experience anyway. Not sure the angriness of her song was the problem, just that it wasn't well known enough overall

This is by far the worst American idol in history. Not only do the three better wildcard choices NOT get chosen but the American public are voting to save people who can't sing.
Jacob, James, Paul, Casey, Stefano, Hayley are all terrible. There's only two people who really can be in the final and it be credible Scotty and Lauren. And i am not even a fan of Country music at all.

Save was wasted on Casey as clearly he is favoured by the judges but is not a good singer.

If they had not used that save then it would not have been all women eliminated from the show. Also those judges need to stop kissing all the contestants backsides and tell them the truth. They can't ALL be "Fantastic, brilliant". And a comment Randy made about "top 9 are Uber talented" is a joke. Compared to previous years this year is tragic. Am still baffled about the wildcards they DIDN'T pick and why. If those three had been chosen instead of Naima, Stefano and Ashton (Worst of the 6) then the show would've been so much better.

I think only Paul, Haley and Casey are weak vocalists. I really like Stefano, but (although I don't think he should have had to be a wildcard after all, especially with Paul going through automatically) he should have gone through with Lauren Turner over Naima, and either Ashthon (with better songs) or Kendra.

Pia should've received the save over Casey IMO. He's a good musician, but Idol is a contest focusing on singing only.

Agreed on the judges' backside kissing. What's the point in them being there?

i love Paul he is different, unconventional and has had (apart from this week) bloody awful song choices. I am in the minority that i preferred all the males in the competition (apart from Scotty) to the females. The only one who remotely interested me was Naima just because she wasnt afraid to mix things up a bit but i knew she would get voted out early

i think the problem is that Pia sang rather than performed, she was very static and whereas over here people similar aka Stacey (did that girl even move on XF) seem to get away with it more i guess the Us audience prefer something more than that (like adam lambert) I could listen to her on the radio and it could be one of a 1000 female singers out there. At least with a lot of the man i.e. Paul, Scotty, Casey they are distinctive and you could tell them apart if you heard them rather than saw them. i get the Paul hasnt got the strongest vocals but he entertains me, whereas Pia didnt.

I like the edge of the seat experience when i watch these programs, not knowing whether my faves performance is gonig to be fantastic or horrific (i supported danyl ahah) i knew what i was going to get when i listened to Pia, Thia etc it was all too safe if you know what i mean. Yes its a singing competition but we know that that is not enough to get far in these competitions, i never saw much personality from Pia

I will give Paul that he is unique, not sure how many of the song choices were his own, but this week's performance was definitely his best IMO

Naima started out looking quite promising, but her tuning was never consistent enough. I reckon she'd be better off arranging music for other people, or perhaps songwriting. Like Casey, she has a good musical brain, but can't always pull off what she wants to do.

I like Lauren A, loved Lauren T and wish she was still around, liked Karen and Ashthon, and Thia grew on me vocally towards the end too. I liked Pia as well, but not the constant ballads. I know, as someone who can sing but can't dance, that it's possible not to be a confident mover but to sing uptempo songs, so I don't know why Pia wouldn't. At least Stacey had more personality from what we saw in her interviews, but she should have performed less ballads too.

I like my favourites to perform well each week, or I worry about them lol. I do like them to be versatile though, as that's how I like to be when I sing in public too

Danyl was very talented, but didn't always show it, so he wasn't my favourite (I liked Joe, Stacey, Rikki and Lucie) but I could see his appeal and was never a hater either

So do I - He doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.

Haley and Casey are undeniably great vocalists, what you think of their style and their performances can vary, but they (particularly Haley) are fantastic singers. Looks like the voters are beginning to see that too.

Paul is a more marmite-type singer, with his target market clearly identified.

Stefano is a great singer, but very irrelevant in modern chart music. I think he'd be better suited to musical theatre.

I don't always think Haley knows what to with her voice, and her growling doesn't sound pleasant to my ears. She does have potential, but a more consistent sound throughout a performance would be preferable to me. Lauren Turner did a much better job of the style Haley's trying for IMO. LT was my favourite overalll until she was eliminated

Casey's voice just seems very weak, when he growls it sounds like a parody and when he doesn't, it's just rather plain.

Not keen on the tone of Paul's voice, but apparently his original material's far superior to his Idol performances

Stefano can be current, loved his Bruno Mars cover - but if not, American Idol could do a lot worse than discovering a new MT superstar. Fantasia and Jordin have both gone on to appear in musical theatre too.

Pia's was the only elimination I did not agree with. She was excellent and I am sorry to see her go. I looked forward to her performances - she has a great voice.

I do not miss Ashthon. She was big-headed but was only average as a singer. Karen was ok but a bit dated in her singing style. Thia was a nice singer, but no power or passion about her - probably still to young to have developed those qualities. Niama was all style and no substance. Not much of a voice and her reggae song was terrible and that she sang in a Jamaican accent was just embarrassing, as she does not speak like that.

I hope that Paul is out next - followed by Scotty then Stefano.

I liked Pia - she had a lovely voice and wasn't in-your-face like the awful Hayley.

Much as I think he's cute, Casey should be the next one to go.
