Call me cynical but it all seems very convenient :s I remember when JEdward were voted out it was said to be engineered so they could get their deal sorted etc Glad she has though, dont get me wrong

TMZ video of Pia out (on a date?) with Mark Ballas of DWTS. This was last night in LA. She seems pretty calm about the whole thing -- didn't seem like she really wanted to talk to the paps.

Until she got booted, she was my favourite to win the whole thing. IMO she has the best recording voice out of everyone in the top 12 and really should get a deal regardless of winning AI or not.

the big question is, Would you pay £100 to see her performing live ?

I wouldn't not even if the tickets were £10
She just isn't a performer

First of all, I would pay a good 50-60 pounds to see her in concert, which is a lot better than the bucket of sick I'd consume to not have to watch somebody like James, Haley or Scotty in conert.

Instead of being so close-minded, take a look at some of her videos...

What do those videos of her performing live have in common? Oh yeah. The crowds of people dancing/having a good time. :| Looks and sounds like a performer to me!

If you feel that way about those contestants, please understand that many feel the same way about Pia.

once again she STANDS there holding a mic and does nothing but sings
When I see someone live I want to be entertained, watching a great stage show, NOT someone who just stands on stage and does not move

Pia hasn't been offered a record deal yet, nor will she be offered a deal anything like the one being alluded to in the early reports. It was all done to shut up the ridiculous mob saying it was a fix (why would they fix it for her to leave in ninth place?) and asking for her reinstatement and other ludicrous suggestions.

If Pia is offered a deal (and I've no reason to think she won't) it'll be the usual small deals that are offered to contestants who leave these shows at this stage, with very little budget for production and promotion.

How does people dancing prove anything about being a great performer? People will dance to a record. If she were a great performer, the crowd would be fixated on her, not on dancing around as if there were nothing more than a DJ on the stage.

However hard she tries (and she did try on RDMH) the girl oozes dullness from every pore. It's not something she can help and it's not something you acquire. Pia can hold a tune and has a substantial (not staggering) range. She could do a lot worse than becoming a backing singer. She'd be in a lot of demand in that field.

She is/was a wedding singer, she is not used to performing, given some more time i know she will improve. In her exit interviews she is saying she is shy, suffered stage fright and was scared to start moving around stage because she likes to be technically perfect.

Gosh i don't understand the "hate" for Pia.....All the contestants have something they can work on and this was Pia's weakness and she knows it !!!

she can't even walk on stage without looking as if she had shitted herself, she just doesn't have any rhythm to perform on stage

Being a wedding singer is no excuse for not being able to move on stage. A good artist tailors their performance for the situation ........................ if they have the ability to. The thing is if you don't have it it's not something you can work on. If she's inflicted by natural shyness, she really has no chance of ever being the performer that she is being criticised for not being. If she has no sense of rhythm, she doesn't have it, end of. If it were possible to work on these things to the extent that you become proficient, all the contestants who enter Strictly Come Dancing would come away moving like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The problem there is that she doesn't have a Leona-like voice to make-up for not moving as much as others and by her own admission it appears that she doesn't have the ability to move much without losing control of her voice.

As for wanting to be technically perfect, there are singers who can move and not lose tune, tone or breath - a few of them from talent shows. If Pia isn't able to do this then never in a million years should she ever be considered among the best in the context of talent shows, never mind an outstanding talent by any standards.

No, I wouldn't.

I'd buy her album, though.

I'd buy the physical version, not download it. Fabulous little coaster that would make.

I think the reaction to her departure is a much more reliable measure of popularity than a few internet polls where you could have 750 Haley/Scotty/James fans and very few for the rest for example. Oh and sorry, I should know much better than to use an e instead of an i, what a massive crime
If you don't like Pia, fair enough but it's beyond me what satisfaction you get from posting a load of personal comments strung together into a poisonous comment aimed at Pia on a thread where the majority of us are fans of Pia (I mean this thread not the overall AI section before you jump on your soap box again.)

I'm sorry, I didn't realise this was a Pia Toscano Appreciation Thread & no one is allowed to post their opinions, unless you adore Pia and wearing rose tinted glasses

I think the most reliable measure of her popularity was the fact that she was voted off...

This isn't the Pia appreciation thread so anyone can post their opinion posistive or negative, if you don't want to read the negative, maybe you would be better off just sticking to the appreciation thread
