So was Aiden Grimshaw.

Didn't stop him trending for the next month and a half consecutively.

If she's inflicted by natural shyness, she really has no chance of ever being the performer that she is being criticised for not being. If she has no sense of rhythm, she doesn't have it, end of. If it were possible to work on these things to the extent that you become proficient, all the contestants who enter Strictly Come Dancing would come away moving like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The problem there is that she doesn't have a Leona-like voice to make-up for not moving as much as others and by her own admission it appears that she doesn't have the ability to move much without losing control of her voice.

As for wanting to be technically perfect, there are singers who can move and not lose tune, tone or breath - a few of them from talent shows. If Pia isn't able to do this then never in a million years should she ever be considered among the best in the context of talent shows, never mind an outstanding talent by any standards.”

That's the thing, Pia was techincally perfect a lot of the time, but it was at the cost of performance and connection with the song and the audience - and that's what cost her, she just didn't inspire people to pick up the phone and vote.

I find James completely overrated and think his voice is very average, but I'd give kudos to his WMGGW - he was off key in places and the vocals weren't great, but he did connect with it and really sold the song - something Pia failed to do.

I couldn't agree more. I don't rate James as a performer or vocalist but I have rewatched that performance several times.

Hovering in the lower regions of UK trending after about two days. Have you looked at what achieves that? It really doesn't take much. Just a small determined group of diehard fans.

Still, where are the record contract offers?
