*The Lady Gaga Appreciation Thread* (Part 3)
Quote:
That's the plan, that she's doing that thing they do on iTunes - "Countdown to ..."
Apparently, Marry The Night is one of those being released! I CAN NOT WAIT TO HEAR THAT SONG! ![]() The hype is just killing....I mean with UK promo and Big Weekend etc. do you think she could break records here as one of the fastest selling debut weeks of all time??? I mean maybe not Take That standard like last year! BUT compared to how well Adele is doing i do feel it is so possible for her to achieve similar massive first week sales if not bigger right now! ![]()

Admin Edit: This thread is a continuation of *The Lady Gaga Appreciation Thread* (Part 2)
|

Nah, I don't think she'll sell that much initially. She seems to be more of a consistent, long-term seller. I think for first week sales, it'll sell hopefully over 100k copies. I can't see it selling more than 200k even if Judas is a monster. I just hope that the singles let her sell consistently over time.
So, as we have a new thread, I'm going to ask for some opinions: 1. What do you think/hope her first week sales will be both here and in America? Worldwide? 2. How many singles do you think/hope the album will produce? 3. How long do you reckon/hope the campaign will last? |

I think how well the album is received (and sales) will heavily effect the time before follow-up album and/or amount of singles.
Also, if Judas is a killer, then the album will sell more copies than if it's another Born This Way (song). Non-monsters still need to be convinced, even if it is Gaga. |

How long do you reckon the campaign will last? erm I think first week sales for - UK - around 180k - 200k US - 350k WW - 1.5 mill - 2mill approx I mean with her large fanbase, The Fame era hype and current hype and success of leading singles i can see it being a big seller for the first week. for singles she released a few from The Fame, and 3 from TFM but i feel with two before the album release and one a month after perhaps (?) and overall a MAXIMUM of 6 singles i feel, maybe some songs promotional only with smaller videos but i would say up to 5 or 6 maximum for the album to allow for longevity in sales and yearly sales etc. for the entire promotional campaign....well technically The Fame/Monster Ball promo is still going. So it will depend on whether she tours soon after album release of not....really is questionable atm. |

I think it was implied that the Born This Way Ball will take place shortly after the album drops (within 2011).

1) Concepts have been made. Outfits have been designed, the stage has been made (or at least the concept has), choreography has started taking place and something else happened, but I can't remember what.
2) I have a strong feeling that the HBO special will be released on DVD. ![]() ![]() wandering what the concept of the tour will be now! I hope it follows a story based stage like her current tour has as a basis....maybe more operatic as well as theatrical?? hmmmmmmm. |

Other people are copying the telling story now (*cough* Katy Perry *cough*) so I'm sure Gaga will think of a way to take it even further.
But yeah she ill need to up the ante a bit more! i mean The Monster Ball has been going for two years chances are evryone has heard of it, now she needs to really do it again and push it out there etc. If this is her personal musical opus album then of course she wants the world to know.I just cannot wait to hear it. It will give us all an indication of where she is going with it all

I imagine TBTWB will be some crazy gothic sci-fi extravaganza to follow the intro of the BTW video. Perhaps it'll be set on G.O.A.T.
![]() It'll probably be a stadium tour, so she'll go nuts. |

![]() It'll probably be a stadium tour, so she'll go nuts. ![]() but yeah i was thinking perhaps something really sci-fi based storyline as a constructive basis for the tour! push the monster themes forward, the plotline of Born This Way video (which was interestin let down by a poorer latter portion of the video itself) of course we will wait to hear and see JUDAS to have any indication

With Born This Way, I hope we could get the continuation of Paparazzi/Telephone and find out how Gaga did one over on Bey.

What's the difference between stadium and arena (I think she's arena with the MB)?
![]() The ones who are guaranteed to sell by the numbers and also of the status they have worked for. So if she IS indeed (which by now i am assuming she will be for the tour!) then it is quite a major thing |

Stadiums are for established and bigger acts. Madonna, U2, Beyonce, Britney are some examples of stadium performers currently.

I don't think we're getting a Paparazzi/Telephone continuation with this album.
She said she'd need to talk to Beyonce about that, when asked...which would mean it wasn't planned any time soon. I hope it's epic when it happens. Telephone is a great pop song, but it didn't show the two divas to their full potential. It should have been so fierce you couldn't contain it. Maybe she'll add a third party to the song as the arc continues. Another bicurious murderess. |
