before this thread turns into something else, ginies for another time guys and dolls ok!!

cannot wait to see the cover art for the album

I think Beyonce is actually gonna be her closest competition now. I mean Beyonce sounds like she is taking her fans to left-field pop! thus bringing new people on board. And gaga has done the Pop album of the generation! Sadly Britneys album didnt develop into the style of era that would be considered as a musical highlight (the album musically itself YES, but era....no ) but seriously Beyonce really has it in the net for this era i feel.....and i as a casual Bouncy listener appear to be converted. And with gaga i am converted back!

EVENT POP is back people!

Oh Beyonce is definitely Gaga's main competition, not just this year, but in general. She's a powerhouse.

I just hope Judas gets a week or two to shine before it's bulldozed off the top. Then again, Bad Romance and Telephone had very tough competition but managed to hold their own, despite not being #1.

Gaga's at the advantage of coming off the back of a very successful single over there, so in theory radios and sales will have Judas debut at #1...however, she's at the disadvantage of Beyonce being the shiny new toy with her comeback.

In an ideal world, fans and the tabloids won't pit them against eachother after they've worked together...but that's probably wishful thinking.

Gaga will outdo Beyonce, FACT.

Beyonce has always had consistently strong singles, but she's yet to deliver a great album, and she's not really at the most cutting-edge side of pop/r&b either. Gaga and Rihanna's music is generally more potent than Beyonce's, although obviously B is such a huge worldwide star and has her reputation as a great singer and performer, so she's pretty much guaranteed to maintain her stardom and success with her new album no matter what. It's just a case of whether she will deliver a really great album this time.

Personally though I've never been bothered about Beyonce's music anyway, apart from some of her singles.

I'll probably buy her new album but I know what you mean. However I always thought it was the other way around- good albums but not very good singles.

i.e. 'diva' 'ego' and 'why don't you love me' never really did that well did they? Not in the sence 'if i were a boy' and 'halo' did. I thought a lot of 'I am' was pure filler tbh.

I havent seen Beyonce as an album artist. But many call her that because she sells more than a lot of contemporaries Stateside! BUT as an album it is always full of filler style songs. This is why i tend to prefer RIhanna musically to Beyonce. Whereas this time she has had three years off and had a mega successful world tour under her belt and had around a year of recording for this album so i am thinking i will buy it depending on whether her lead song lives up to expectation....which by the sounds of it will blow the house down!

Lady gaga, Adele and Beyonce i predict will be the biggest selling albums this year.....assuming everything goes to plan of course! But i really can foresee that they will have millions at the end of this year!

I predict that gaga will be the biggest however, by hype and era alone! and of course singles and videos etc. will be huge!!

What Gaga has on her side is promotional platforms and genius marketing. Not to mention, the lack of snobbery when it comes to shows to appear on. She hustles.

Beyonce is unlikely to be booked on anything other than huge, predominately US, shows...which will hinder her impact. Especially because there aren't many upcoming beyond the MTV MA and VMA's, and Gaga will be involved certainly in the latter. Probably Britney too, so it won't be the Beyonce show.

It's going to get very competitive at the Grammys next year. Gaga vs. Beyonce vs. Adele. I have a feeling Gaga will be the underdog.

And, lest we forget, her headline slot at Glasto!

Which I'm totally looking forward to...but it isn't really...'promo' in a traditional sense. Performers get a boost in sales, no doubt, but it's not quite 'here I am with a new album guys, go buy it!'...its more 'here are my hits, oh slip in a new song' to a crowd of people who probably aren't going to buy it.

Just realized, R1BW is before Born This Way gets released so surely she'd only perform BTW + Judas, old songs and promotional songs (if she has them)?

To think...the same fanbase that had gay sex in the audience of The Fame Ball.

Well, at least we aren't complete sluts and give it all up at the beginning.

I'm sure it will come as a shock to people who think we are all just whores because we enjoy it when Gaga wears minimal clothing.
