Yeah fair enough. But it will still be big news amongst the media and her fans, and will be one of the performances everyone will be talking about. So it will be as good as promotion really

isnt Beyonces promo like...the BEST way to promote her material.

glasto is the biggest event in summer music events in the entire history of it here in the UK! everyone knows about it. It will be televised and broadcasted via radio towards MILLIONS of people. Thousands upon thousands will be going. Not only that but she will have crowds of people surrounding her to listen to her new music and remixed previous hits and medleys. That is the stuff that Britney SHOULD be doing but wont. Beyonce has it in the bag! i mean she will bring on board people who havent heard or wont be likely to hear her music and bring their attention to her new material and her as an artist....it will be phenomenal.

gaga has it right too, R1BW is one major event now! which millions tune into and will watch etc. and a week prior to the album release will allow her to perform Born This Way, Judas, You & I from the album most definitely. And she may also perform Marry The Night as she said she wanted to release a few songs the week leading up to the album and for fans to choose a single for future release. So we will hear at least a third of the album live! along with her hits from her previous album etc. will be fantastic!

As far as i'm concerned, 'Judas' had better be nothing short of ground-breaking to live up to it's hype. Maybe it's just me but I personally feel there's more anticipation for this single than there was for 'Born This Way'.

It's no secret that 'Born This Way' disappointed many - Little Monsters and all - and because of that, 'Judas' needs to soar above 'Born This Way' and indeed, pretty much every release of her career up to now, if it hopes to be welcomed as one of the first GaGa singles to live up to it's mountainous hype.

Then again, going by the general consensus of those who have heard the single, it may just live up to the audacious statements thrown at it thus far. Statements like "[the rest of the album is] like heroin" are typically GaGa; hyped to high heaven and, when released, fall far short.

But I reserve judgement on 'Judas' wholly until I hear it. I'm very indifferent to GaGa's music and found much of 'The Fame' to be pure filler. But for the record, she is undoubtedly one of the most talented musicians in the last 15 years of popular music.

'Judas' will storm, I am not worried that it will explode and make everyone gasp

The next one doesn't have to be more talented, they just have to be more successful, or beautiful, or media savvy, or whatever.

The horrible thing is, people say Little Monsters are crazy now - just wait until she's not the big girl in the playground anymore. It's the same thing with Britney fans now. Many can't accept that there's someone bigger than her now, hence all the bitchiness. And again, same with Madonna fans when Britney was much bigger at the start of the last decade.

It's the Music food chain, and not just Pop. Lady GaGa isn't a victim here - far from it - she's just another in a long line of musicians that are huge now, but will become less successful as the years go on. It's not because she'll be shit or old, it's because she won't have as many casual fans. People will be used to ''The Lady GaGa Sound'', and just won't be interested.”

Well look, I wasn't trying to make a big statement about anything before. Although I am a Gaga fan - I just love her music and love what she does (most of the time), I wouldn't count myself as a huge fan, nowhere near as much as most of the guys in this thread are. I rarely visit any Gaga-specific websites and I'm not as up-to-date with all things Gaga other than her music. She's not even my favourite artist, by a fair distance. So I'm just saying all this stuff how I see it as a neutral pop fan.

I'm not saying she's going to continue to sell 10-15 million of every album she releases for the next 20 years, and obviously she won't be as huge as she is now forever - especially with the way the pop world is now, but we really haven't seen anyone quite like her in mainstream pop for absolutely ages. She's not just a typical popstar of the moment, for all sorts of reasons which don't need me to spend ages listing. But aside from all the things that make her stand out (for better or worse), she does have the core abilities as a musician and songwriter, which means she never has to just rely on other people for her music. Whether that makes a difference in terms of her popularity in years' time, who knows, but it's certainly an advantage, as well as being a great asset to have.

There hasn't really been that much hype around Judas. Certainly not compared to the ridiculous levels of BTW. She's barely mentioned it by Gaga standards.

I agree that there's a lot riding on it though. After BTW not blowing us all away, now is the time to prove she can still do it.

By the sound if it - I think it'll be more what people were expecting; a very Gaga song to step up from BR in the same way that stepped up from PF.

Im still most excited about hearing Marry The Night. Everyone has said that is the highlight, along with Edge of Glory.

It's certainly a great advantage, but it also means that's she's going to be held responsible through her work if she really messes up. Madonna took a lot of control for American Life, and it flopped, lowest selling of her career, and not very well erceived by critics. Three years later, back to Disco. The same thing could happen to GaGa, as I said before, look at Prince. Or even Cyndi. You don't have to be extraordinarily talented to make it, and then keep it, the way someone like GaGa hopefully will. You just have to be open to trying everything, and get creative when it's needed.

Nobody's going to buy her ''Artsy'' bullshit in 5 years time. It'll be old, and she'll need a change of tack. She thinks people are trying to bring her down now? The Honeymoon isn't even over yet. If she thinks it's tough for her at the moment, she's got another thing coming.

Yeah I agree. Apart from threads like this and a few other places, Judas hasn't been anywhere near as hyped as BTW. Which makes it all the more important for the song to be amazing.

Well there you go - it's never an easy road for anyone in such a position. Madonna has had difficult times in her career, and so will Gaga. But talent, creativity and hard work wins through in the end.
