I don't know, all that's been said is today but I hope that she's still in with a shot to get her 5th UK #1

Agreed hehe...I'm still gutted that 'BTW' missed out on the 5th UK #1 but let's hope that 'JUDAS' manages to do it instead though lol!

Well, look at the hype around 'Born This Way'. Did that get to #1?

'Judas', if it is indeed being released today, will have, technically, even fewer hours to rack up sales than 'Born This Way' did, and it has significant less hype that 'Born This Way' did too. I doubt very much it'll land anywhere in the Top 5, or even the Top 10; it's at a huge disadvantage.

On Air, On Sale is a very precarious release method, as Willow Smith found out upon the release of '21st Century Girl'. Anyone remember where that peaked?

I'm in two minds: I really want to be able to listen to it (avoiding LQ versions), but I also want it to go to number one in case it doesn't climb there eventually—which it won't do if it's released today. Hmmm.

Well Born This Way was held back by the juggernaut that was Adele. Born This Way also wasn't promoted in the UK at all. It held the #1 spot in the US for six weeks and went #1 in the vast majority of countries.

Isn't Judas supposed to be performed in the UK at some point? I remember reading that.

It's unfortunate that the sales will be split again - she'll have to sell more than her competition in about a day for her to debut at #1. Not impossible, but it's very unlikely.

BTW was cock-blocked by the Brits, but there's no major competition in her way this time. R1 will spin and hype the hell out of Judas because she's playing R1BW.

I think it's good to get a HQ out there though. People are already judging it on clumsily put together LQ clips.

Another end-of-week release? She can forget about another no.1 then.

This isn't totally her fault. The leakers have practically put Gaga in a bad release decision. Either they leak it, or she does it.

I'm split. I think I'd prefer her to release Judas at the start of the charts week, but if they do release it today worldwide then I'll probably download it anyway!

I think they're definitely doing the right thing in switching the premiere to today right after the LQ leaks, but I think they can afford to hold the itunes release back until the date they originally intended.

There's not really any tough competition now though.

But there's no reason why the song MUST be released immediately. Even releasing it tomorrow evening would give it a better chance

It might not debut at #1, but it can still go #1. None of her other singles debuted at #1.
