this may not be a million miles form the truth.
they should switch to a different scheme like windows did, and then didn't, you know FireFox 2013, of course they could release chrome 2014. but you always need to stay 2 to 3 years ahead of the current year.
then you have to change the name a bit like The Fast and The Furious did, and then didn't. or Rambo. they could call it Fire, or FoxFire. They could flip the logo.
This is all way more important that fixing the memory leak.
