Who is the best female in Pop right now?
I was wondering how people feel about the females in Pop right now. In my opinion there are 5 mainstream girls in Pop right now that have been dominating the charts recently.
1. Lady Gaga Lady Gaga broke onto the scene back in 2008 and went on to become one of the biggest selling and most popular artists of all time. Not 3 years after she broke through she's already being crowned the new Madonna and Michael Jackson. Not one to shy away from controversy or speak her mind she has a huge fan base of "little monsters". Albums

The Fame
The Fame Monster
Born This Way (May 23rd)
2. Rihanna Rihanna had her first hit back in 2005 with Pon de Replay. She was hailed as a one hit wonder by many critics but her follow up album in 2006 secured her a place in the industry. It wasn't until 2007 that she had the longest hit at number one since 1994. Her next album Rated R showed her change up her image completely in favour of a new darker sound and attitude following her domestic despute with former boyfriend Chris Brown. Now in late 2010 and early 2011 she has her sunny dance music back with a blend of her dark attitude and sexy sass. Albums

Music of the Sun
A Girl Like Me
Good Girl Gone Bad
Rated R
Loud
3. Katy Perry She broke through in 2008 with her debut hit "I Kissed A Girl" and instantly became a controversial figure. A few hits later she released her next album Teenage Dream which was heavily promoted and produced some of the biggest hits of 2010 and 2011 including Teenage Dream, Firework and the new E.T. Albums

One of the Boys
Teenage Dream
4. Britney Spears Needing no introduction she's been hailed as the princess of Pop for over a decade. She went from the cute teenage girl next door to a controversial tabloid target to caring mother and is now back after all of her troubles with what some are calling her best album to date, Femme Fatale.

Baby One More Time
...Oops I Did It Again
Britney
In The Zone
Blackout
Femme Fatale
5. Kesha Known for her messy hair and brash attitude Kesha is often perceived as a love her or hate her artist. One thing that can't be denied is how catchy her music is. With only two studio albums released so far Kesha has already made a mark on the industry. Some say she relies to much on autotune yet she's still managed to have a very prominent place in the industry for the past 2 years. Albums

Animal
Cannibal
So, take your pick, who is your favorite? |

It's a sad state of affairs when only one of the 5 'popsters' mentioned in the OP can actually sing to any decent level live.

Out of those listed in the OP Lady GaGa is my favourite, and Katy Perry is probably my second favourite. I prefer Rihanna's earlier stuff to anything she's done recently, and Britney's a bit "meh" for me. I'm not really familiar with Kesha.

You mean WAS one of them, not now she aint. Her music still seems dated and its nothing like Katy, Gaga, Rihanna.

How is she playing catch up at all? She did all the electropop way before any of them did on Blackout....
Britney's album looking more like a flop than anything now. Thank God |

One of Britney's team has said something like it's took close to two years to make her new album and it's her ROL.
Sorry to say this, it comes no where close to ROL. |
