Just wondered as it's such a big-seller and seems to cross age-groups and be the CD everyone seems to own.

If you don't own it then why not?

I don't own it.

When growing up I got that sick of hearing ABBA and the constant 10 yearly revivals to the point of Nausea.

My uncle also doesn't own it for the opposite reason, a massive fan he owns their back catalogue and therefore has no point in owning it.

Our family doesn't own it simply because, believe it or not, some people don't like Abba.

Yep, I think the question should be:
Does anyone here own Abba Gold?

You have now!

I see what the OP's getting at though, there's certain albums that are so famous/popular that it seems like pretty much everyone has a copy. Greatest Hits by Queen and The Fame by Lady Gaga are good examples.

We have copies of their other Greatest Hits, but not ABBA Gold, although my cousin burnt my parents off a copy years ago. So half and half, yes... (sorta) lol.

Don't own either of those, Abba Gold and nothing by Michael Jackson or Madonna either. Do I win?

Wow, yes you do! Out of interest, which really famous/popular artists do you actually like?

I always preferred More Abba Gold. I dunno why but I think the better songs were on the follow up.

I don't own it, not being an Abba fan, although I did buy a copy for my dad's birthday once.

We have two copies in this house. Had to buy another as my daughter nicked mine when she was about 8 and got her first hi-fi. They were singing Mamma Mia in their school play and she needed to practice.

In the mid 80's it was Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits, to test the new CD player, as it was a digital recording so sounded good.

Ah, I always wondered why that album was such a massive success but hadn't been bothered to look it up. Thanks for enlightening me
