On the News only this morning it was saying that <<most>> people are on the wrong mobile tarrif, vastly over-estimating their usage and are 'on average' paying £120 year toooooooo much, and most have no idea they can change tarrif without changing contract

i have too many minutes. i don't use a quarter of them...

but i find with vodafone if for example the handset is 100pounds on an 18 month 30pound contract if you go up to 35pounds the handset would be a tenner.

People often do to spread the cost and to lower that initial payment for a device these days, i have far too many minutes and SMS wise i think i now only send over 350 a month tops? data wise i am well under the 500mb limit that i have per month i think it may be even 1GB of data.

The report fails to mention though that many people are on contracts that offer a free phone as well as many minutes and people often go for it for that reason and not because they think they will use them all.

They do however have a poiint, but persoanlly I usually run close to my call allowance, and am in that 5% who uses more than 500MB of data. Thankfully I am with T-Mobile with a 3GB limit because I use over 2GB a month.

100 mins, unlimited data and 00000's text on PAYG Simplicity, I never use the hundred mins and only a couple of hundred Mb of data if that. I don't like text messages so I may, emphasise may send two a month very often none at all for £15 a month.

I must look around for another deal for a tenner a month, don't need texts.

600 mins and unlimited texts here, used 22 mins last month and 3: so far this month. Due to change tariff to 100 mins 500 texts at £13.50 cheaper a month in a weeks time so I shod be much closer to my actual usage. Only tariff lower is 50 mins and that's cutting it too close for my liking, but I might drop to that yet too!

So aye, I was paying too much, by a long shot but hopefully won't be any more!

ChitterChatter do 100 mins, 100 texts plus a free 'booster' of your choice (that could be unlim landlines or internet etc) for £6/month
