Foo Fighters 23k ahead of Adele

Undoubtedly frontloaded, but I think a lead that big, and with all the rave reviews the album has been getting, Adele's run is about to be broken

Well she's had a good run hasn't she!
Her album is terrific, But i would like to see her stuff dropping sooner or later.. As much as I love her and her voice, I'm Adele overloaded at the moment. |

Yep, she will do that. Looks like her sales for the last two days are around the 30K - so still going to big a big sales week for her. |

Yes, barring a massive upset, The Foos have it in the bag this week. Congrats to them for doing something no artist/band has/have been able to do for over 11 weeks! The sales of '21', whilst tailing off, are still so consistently big that it will doubtless return to number 1 on weeks where there are no massive releases. It will be interesting to see just how many weeks it has spent at #1 by the end of the year.

Probably, but to be expected when radio and TV are all falling on their feet before you. Foo Fighters built their fanbase up from scratch, with much less media hype than Adele has.
Yes, I believe Grohl came straight from the Brit School and put his stuff up on myspace whilst Adele played drums for one of the most iconic rock bands of the 90s..

I'm talking specifically in relation to their current situations
![]() FF definitely benefited from the Nirvana connection, despite sounding absolutely nothing like them. But all I'm saying is that, at the moment, all you hear on the radio, TV, read in the papers is "Adele Adele Adele", she's totally saturated the media. Whilst the FF album is selling strongly with, all things considered, a flop lead single and very little radio/TV support. |

Foo Fighters have been one of the most popular rock bands in the World for many years but if it makes you feel better, yes I agree, this week is a victory for the musical Morris Minors against the industry juggernaut.... |

But saying that, I think a lot of people actually forgot who Adele was. |
