. She's commercially very big, and is critically aclaimed, even by sections you wouldn't expect to like her.

I love her!

She first came to my attention on Christinas 'Woohoo' (a song on that album nobody bought ) and at the time I really liked her voice and attitude.

Then when I heard the equally good duet with Rihanna I decided to splash out on her album (Pink Friday - £7 in HMV!)

I'm not usually into that sort of music but it's a really great album. Particularly the tracks with Eminem and Natasha Bedingfield

Someone who is MASSIVE in the US but hasn't really had any impact on the charts here in the UK.

I actually quite liked her, until she sampled The Big Pink and destroyed one of my favourite songs. Not sure I can ever forgive her for that one.

Quite like Moment 4 Life and Last Chance though.

Pink Friday is a good album, I've listened through it a few times. Eminem's track is Roman's Revenge, glyn. I quite like it but think his part ruins it much like his verses with Rihanna. :S

That's probably her intention lol.

I think she's quite hot actually. Like in her 'Moment 4 Life' video where she dressed normally.

Anyway, yeah she's really popular in the USA, I'd say she's kinda well known here, there's still plenty of people who might not know her, but fans of R&B/Rap most probably know of her her.

Love her.
Maybe more UK-love will come of she does a "Girls Fall Like Dominoes" vid, plus the ones with the Rihanna. She also has Britney and David Guetta collabs coming.

Love her, however she is a marmite character, her lyrics are quite shocking for a female, the stuff she says. Some of her work:

Some nice ones/soft ones

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-FBsWcraqM

Some more hard and rude ones:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbaxT...eature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlC4UJe2FUg (love this one, big fan of Drake)

And then theres the obvious Check It Out with William and Cheryl Cole.

She's hip hop for people who don't really like hip hop, the lady blabla of 'urban' (which probably explains her huge appeal), 'out there' for the sake of being 'out there', autotuned to death, terminally boring and cliched 4/4 programmed beats.

She's proper crud... IMO, of course!

She's a more commercial version of Lil Kim *lights touch paper and retires*. Unlike a lot of rappers she both sings and raps. She uses a lot of samples which is why a lot of people think she lacks originality. She can do pretty heavy hip-hop (Roman's Revenge) as well commercial hip-pop (basicially the rest of her album). She's quite mainstream which is why she's so popular.

I think she's the shizzle and her album is one of my favourites of 2010. HATE that dominoes song though, but only because I hate the original track.

I'm surprised at how unknown she is in the UK reading this thread. I thought she had broke through in the UK by now. As mentioned above, she's very much like marmite, you either really love her music, or really hate it.

She raps almost all of the time. In Hip-Hop men have often used profanities and relied on shock value with their lyrics. Eminem for example. Nicki is like the female equivalent to these male rappers. Some of the bad language and metaphors she uses in her music could be considered pretty shocking.

I like her album Pink Friday a lot. It's in my top 5 albums of 2010. Some tracks like Roman's Revenge will never get released because of the harsh lyrical content while others like Moment 4 Life ft. Drake, Fly ft. Rihanna and Check It Out ft. Will.I.Am and Cheryl Cole are much more radio friendly.

Check out some of the YouTube links above and let us know what you think. I like her, even if she is a bit eccentric

Her latest single 'girls fall like dominoes' is set to eneter the charts at 22 on sunday, and thats without any promo or a video out and i havent heard it once on the radio! She is big in the R&B/RAP scene
