ahhh (: Sounds good.

If she does a book signing for her autobiography, I HAVE to go. Imagine meeting her!
Yeah it is strange, but at the time she was out the Human League and Frankie goes To Hollywood etc were massive around that circa so it was a bit different a cooky gal from Brooklyn with bright orange hair, torn danim jackets, bling and characterised high heeled shoes/boots singing about female liberation may have been a bit absurd then....mind you the singles did well here though.

And yes LM...her Hits album which we have too was her biggest selling album overall in the UK but her Hits are a leage ahead of her overall studio album sales

And that girls just wanna have fun (hey now!) hit remix as a hit in the UK too (and i actually controversially prefer it!) love her red hat and yellow hair.

She lost all interest in chart positions back in 1989 when the label ruined her. They forced her to record a night to remember and she hated it. I drove all night became a hit both sides of the atlantic though, but the album bombed. Then she just wanted to comcentrate on being an artist.

If you can you need to watch (think its on youtube) the 'behind the music' documentary that VH1 did. Even if you just watch the last 20 mins of it it will give you a great insight into the artist that she is.

Ive met her 3 times. In 2003 in new brunswick USA after the concert and then in Manchester in 2008 i held her up on a chair!

At the concert in america, it was in a venue a fair trek away from new york, and we shouted to her 'were from England!' and she turned round looked gobsmacked that we were there and smiled. She then signed a t-shirt 'to marc all the way from england.

She is the most down to earth, caring artist i know. And i love how she is a perfectionist like when she was singing money and stopped the band and said, start again, i wanna rock!

She should have been alot more successful, but radio snubbed her but its nice to have her as a hidden treasure!

Aww that's a lovely story, thank you for sharing. She does seem like a total sweetheart but I know she isn't afraid to speak her mind like apparently someone in Manchester flashed the camera in her face and she wasn't impressed ahaha. She's feisty yet extremely caring. I'd love to meet her.
