The excellent Dolly Parton!
She's over in the UK atm and she's been nothing but a treat on the shows i've seen her appear on! (The one show, daybreak, Lorraine).
She's so friendly, nice and warm and deffo no diva! Her greatest hits has also climbed the charts!

She's overdone the plastic surgery....the last few years she's looked like the Bride of Wildenstein

I always judged her.. I don't know why maybe its the plastic exterior and the typical blonde, massive boobs thing. But she was so warm and friendly on Lorraine. I really have a new opinion on her. I found her charismatic, sincere and just lovely. Feel ashamed that I prejudged like that.

I really couldn't care-a-less about the plastic surgery, yeah she's overdone it, so what? She said she's happy with her image now and if she's comfortable that's all that matters!
She's able to have a laugh and a joke about herself too and she's so friendly. Lovely lady! |

I've not heard any of the new album yet but I really liked Backwoods Barbie, in fact I've loved most of her recent albums - Little Sparrow is probably my favorite.

I like the woman immensely - just feel she's taken it too far....people often do with that much work done. They lose sight on reality

I love Dolly. I've only got her hits collection and Backwoods Barbie though. A very talanted lady with a great sense of humour!

I do think there is still a bit of stigma attached to Dolly though, as if she was some novelty act from the 70's - and she very much plays on her novelty value, which is a shame as she really is a first rate pop-song writer and musician. |

She seems like a very decent person who does loads for charity, including her book project: http://www.imaginationlibrary.com/uk/howworks.php Wiki: Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Quote:
Her literacy program, "Dolly Parton's Imagination Library",[51] a part of the Dollywood Foundation, mails one book per month to each enrolled child from the time of their birth until they enter kindergarten. It began in Sevier County but has now been replicated in 566 counties across thirty-six U.S. states (as well as in Canada[52]). In December 2007 it expanded to Europe with the South Yorkshire town of Rotherham, United Kingdom, being the first British locality to receive the books.

ooh, a Dolly top 5,here's mine -
1. Jolene - probably one of the greatest pop songs ever written 2. Little Sparrow - amazing song, from an amazing album. 3. Dagger Through The Heart - from her Halos and Horns album - just beautiful melancholy blue-grass. 4. Baby, I'm Burning - camp as f### Disco Dolly. 5. Better Get Livin' - my favorite form the Backwoods Barbie album, great radio-friendly Dolly. |

It's sad that she couldn't have children.
Once read that she saw the best specialists that money can buy but she just couldn't carry a child for some unknown reason.
