Being a former pupil of the Brit School seems to be unlocking a few doors.

Where's Amy McDonald on there? I thought you predicted she would be massive in the US, jack.

i for the life of me will never understand the hype around jessie j. infact i feel abit left out!
i find her music mediocre. and im a lover of both pop and hiphop, which i suppose she is trying to combine, but it just doesnt work for me.
she bores me!
i suppose 'do it like a dude' is ok, but the rest..

Approx 20K more than Duffy so not too bad, I suppose (although earlier in the year Amos Lee got a #1 album with less than 50k!).

PS I'm not a fan but I do like to see UK acts do well in the US.

Duffy didn't have a radio hit, this kind of promo, or a featured artist holding her hand:

Saturday Night Live, Ellen, Jay Leno, Today's Show, BET, Jimmy Kimmel

wooahhh...I'm not saying Jessie J is better than Duffy as I really don't like either of them. To be fair, though, Duffy's 2nd album was launched on the back a 6-7 million worldwide selling debut album so she was hardly an unknown with no promo.

PS Duffy was certainly on Ellen. Unfortunately it was singing one of the most crazily chosen lead singles from an album ever, I feel.

I'm with you. From the interviews i've seen of her she seems a nice enough girl, but her music isn't anything special. At least not to my ears
