Full HD TV with Sky

We are buying a new TV as ours is ancient, my OH wants a full HD TV but we only have standard sky+ - can I still watch it OK??

Yes.

A TV being HD does not mean you cannot watch anything except HD. After all the majority of TV channels are probably SD still. The TV simply scales the image up to fill the screen automatically.

Thanks, I might get SKY HD eventually, but he wants it mostly to play on the XBox - our TV (an Asda Schneider circa 2001) cannot handle 60 hz games.
