As a massive Muse fan I don't think I could stomach the former and if he did the latter, well he might just as well paint a large target on his back j/s

Lol well i did think Feeling Good was a death wish for him but i just reckon it comes out every season and James in the only one who could do it. I wouldnt mind him doing Plug in Baby actually lol

I could see Haley attempting the big band style Feeling Goos, but it wouldn'r be a good choice for anyone this week, as the Muse version is a cover and the original is so old lol

Plug In Baby would be fun, how well knoqn are Muse in America?

Please please don't let anybody do Creep (since (fortunately should i say) it's the only Radiohead song they know)

Coldplay will do just fine

I think Jacob, Casey and Haley could do Feeling Good far better than James.

Remember, Feeling Good is a song from the fifties so is inelligible!

It is a versatile song though, perhaps they could have a week where everyone sang it lol

They could get away with that by saying its the Muse version im sure!!

Yeah but that would make the theme seem somewhat irrelevant as most classic songs have been re-done by someone or other. It should be songs that were written in the 21st Century....

I agree. I'm sure they'll throw a Big Band or Rat Pack week in somewhere anyway, so they shouldn't need to use Feeling Good this week - although that doesn't mean they won't!

Firstly, Feeling Good would be potential suicide live on prime time TV for James.

Secondly, if he goes within a million miles of Muse I'll personally go and assist him with the suicide.

Adam Lambert sang 'Feeling Good' in the Rat Pack week on Idol two years ago :

If any of the Top 7 Season 10 contestants performs 'Feeling Good' on Idol, his or her performance will be compared to Adam's version. Can he or she match Adam's vocals, staging, costumes, and creativity in that performance?

Or his bottom two result?

Seriously, FG is a graveyard song on these shows. I can only think of two XF contestants who didn't land up in the bottom two or eliminated with that song (and they performed it in the week after being in the bottom two so they would have got a bounce in the voting that week) and it's got almost every contestant who has performed it on AI eliminated.

Did his performance deserve to be at the bottom two? No.

At that time, many people doubted that Adam was really at the bottom two or bottom three. They thought the Idol producers did that to Adam for the sake of the drama and the ratings for the show.

I think he was in the bottom two, lots of kradam/kradsion fans shared votes between Adam, Kris and Allison that week because they were worried one of the latter two would be sent home and as a result nearly got Adam sent home. It was a wake up call and didn't happen in subsequent weeks

Either way I think James should leave well alone if he wants to get away from the Adam comparisons.

Adam being in the bottom two tied in with all the predictor sites that week, including Dialidol's geopredictions.

In fact all the predictor sites had it at anyone's guess whether Adam or Matt had polled the least votes that week.

As IsItThatDeep said, many Kradam/Adison/Kradison fans split their votes that week (and some even said that they would be voting for Kris and/or Allison only) because they thought Adam would be safe and didn't want one of the other two going out and they thought Danny was Adam's biggest threat.

Would be better not to see Feeling Good at all this year, but if we do, they should save it for Big Band night

Season 8 was pretty strong overall, so although it was surprising for Adam to e in the bottom two, it'd be more surprising if it jinxed a favourite at this stage. There is a strong field this year, but there are more people obviously likely to appear in the B3 (including my favourite, Stefano, unfortunately)

Oh dear, i guess me suggesting feeling good caused some debate. As a danyl fan yeah it got him in the B2 as well, and no his performance didnt deserve it either. Who was it that sung it on this yrs X Factor was it Rebecca? She survived the curse then haha

I dont mind James or any of the others attempting songs from Bands i love tbh, it makes it a more interesting show IMO. The official site had a thread on this subject and many wanted to see James attempt something from a band better known over there Shinedown. Wonderful songs, from a great band and it would be nice to hear something a bit different. Second Chance is my preferred choice, although i love Burning Bright and 45 (which can be done acousitcally which would be awesome) The only problem with 45 is the subject content of the song

Lol don't worry Lisa, we like a bi of debate as long as it doesn't get out of hand!

I'm on the official site too, my username is britspark there. I saw a few suggestions of Shinedown for James, havne't heard of them though. I've posted my song suggestions too, and they seem to have gone down well.

Season 8 wasn't quite as strong as season 7 overall but Adam in the bottom two at any stage in any season would have been almost as big a fall off your chair moment as his not winning was.

This year's field isn't strong at all. I can only think of two who would have made it to the finals any other year.
