Has media support for DW increased since the NTA loss?

This has been something I have been wondering for a while. Has media support for DW increased the NTA loss? It certainly feels that way to me. I mean, I remember all the Daily Mail complaints about DW becoming too "sexed up" last year, (which was a rather daft thing to say) and now, the aforementioned Daily Mail is supporting DW quite a bit, especially through the visit to the USA. I suppose losing to Waterloo Road WITH Sherlock battered the NTA credibility a bit.

But yes, it just seems like the press are really saying nothing but positive things, really. I haven't seen a negative review of the press screening either. (Which is, of course, a good thing.)

Any thoughts?

The tabloid reports all seem to start out with "look at the Doctor's sexy new companion in her sexy sexy outfits" before the series airs, and then "for shame at the Doctor's sexy new companion in her slutty slutty outfits" afterwards.

The reversal will come soon, believe me. I'm guessing it'll be more about scaring innocent impressionable kids this time round.

...and, a year ago, the so-called 'Doctor Who mocks all gingers' news.

Maybe instead of speculating what is in each episode we should speculate how the Daily Mail is going to misconstrue .. I mean objectively report on each single aspect of the new series.

My first suggestion is that it isn't British enough anymore.

In answer to the OP's question, this is definitely a possibility, although I would hope that people aren't that easily influenced.
