Put into perspective non of them are qualified to judge a "Talent contest".

Its Car Crash TV of the Big Brother Editing Variety.

Talent can't be judged by talent?

What qualifications are needed to judge this kind of show, aside from eyes and ears?

Same with Amanda Holden really.

Least the Hoff has been in Knight Rider and Baywatch (lol), the other 2 have done nothing. Also, It's BGT, so why is an American on the show?

Weird.”

Amanda is an actress, singer and most notably an Olivier nominated West End performer.

I can't stand her but to say she has "done nothing" is ludicrous

I found him likeable but just finding his feet. My only gripe was wish he would stop saying the Queen of ENGLAND she isn't!!

I was dreading it with out Simon but hardly missed him and found myself laughing more than I usually do

Common Sense would be a good qualification for starters.
Intelligence would be another.

For the same reason there's two British people on America's Got Talent.

I thought Michael McIntyre was brilliant tonight, he was funny yet constructive at the same time. Just wish as others have said, the talent of the contestants was a bit better.

I thought the new judges breathed some fresh life into a rather stale show. I've never been a big Michael Mcintyre fan, but I actually found him funny on the panel, and lighthearted comedy and fun down at the judges bench is what the show needs. He was absolutely fine in my opinion, as was Hoff.

McIntyre without his rehearsed scripted lines.....a lead balloon.

Its teh same with all stand up comics though...they have scripts (mostly jokes written by a team of writers) that they read out to you...and it is funny. In real life they are top class bores. Thier talent is in nstanding there and comic timing.

A classic example is Vic Reeves and Stephen Fry. In unscripted TV appearances they are boring as hell.

It's nice to see there is no evil judge this year.

For the first time they are qualified. They are all immensely successful in their chosen career or careers so in contrast to something like Dancing on Ice with Emma Bunton or So you think you can dance with Sisqo, this is the closest you'll get to qualified.

I love Michael McIntyre!

IMO, he's very funny.

And, I thought he was great last night. He's the one that kept me (and will keep me) watching.

Really? I would say that out of all the judges Michael Mcintyre is probably most deserving of the job. He has actually performed at the Royal Variety Show (which is what the winner of BGT is going to do at the end of it), so surely he would have an idea of what to look for?

Amanda Holden has also done a lot of stage work.

I was a bit concerned that as an American David Hasselhoff would fail to understand a lot of the british eccentricity which comes with BGT, but so far he seems to be doing ok

Me too!! As far as I am concerned MM cannot do anything wrong!! I also thought the Hoff was better than I was expecting. Its a shame the talent wasn't very good. However, I will keep watching as I enjoyed it!

Michael McIntyre was great! He kept me entertained all through the show. David was good too. Actually the judging panel were more entertaining than the talent which was shown altogether!

No, he did not. He made it watchable.

I liked MM's banter with the young comedian and laughed when he buzzed him for saying Harry Hill

He annoys me sometimes (when he's on other TV shows), but I enjoyed him as a judge on BGT and thought he was the highlight of the whole episode!

I love Michael, thought he was great, I loved his impression of Simon Cowell (rather that than the real one ), that was hilarious.

I'm not too keen on the Hoff to be honest.
