BBC Two just wasn't at the races last night in primetime. Some poor results for them.

EastEnders meanwhile managed to keep the momentum going from Friday, and to be fair yesterday's episode post-reveal was much better, with some excellent acting all round I thought. Corrie also looks pretty strong share wise.

Apart from the overly inflated figures for Motorway Cops because of the channel it airs on, the 9pm shows were pretty much where I thought they'd be. C4's topical and well-publicised documentary proved too strong for The Hotel Inspector, but a good result for both nonetheless. The ITV1 drama meanwhile got off to a solid start.

On multichannel, the critics' favourite show of the moment Game of Thrones did well for its premiere. Given the amount of timeshifting that goes on amongst Sky viewers I guess the official will be some way over the 1m mark.

Nothing official yet but suggestion on Twitter that Game of Thrones had 710,000 viewers for Sky Atlantic last night, which if correct would make it the biggest overnight rating since the channel launched.
That's good. Wish Atlantic would have the one ad break policy across all their programmes. Four breaks in Boardwalk was overkill.

I'm sure they can't be totally happy that Atlantic is the most timeshifted channel.

edit: Attentional now reporting 742,500.

Monday 18th April 2011
BBC1
21:00 - Motorway Cops: 3.9m (16.5%)

BBC2
21:00 - Fix My Family: 1.0m (4.0%)

ITV1
22:35 - Real Crime with Mark Austin: 1.2m (9.1%)
Was Motorway Cops a repeat? Poor for BBC2 9pm, beaten by ITV1 10.35pm.

For anyone wondering, Sing If You Can had an AI of 65, the second lowest AI of the week. (no prices for the lowest AI of the entire lot)

Yeah. It's been bottom of the AI charts since September...

Imagine working on Daybreak, looking at the rubbish that was 'Sing if you can' and thinking ....... 'the audience thinks this is better than what we produce.'

Ouch!

No U.S figures yet but some reports say they may not be as strong as Boardwalk Empire's debut. HBO delayed the publication of the figures.
That's an impressive overnight figure, especially considering Sky Atlantic is only available to Sky subscribers.

Daybreak seemed to hold up pretty well without its big name presenter Adrian Chiles yesterday. (He's off all week in fact according to listings, with Dan Lobb standing in)

When are ITV going to admit Adrian and Christine were duff appointments for a breakfast show?

They get posted from time to time on the thread, and whenever they do, Daybreak is always rock bottom.

AI's mean very little. I presume the people who give Daybreak such a low AI figure are still watching the show, which suggests its not that bad considering they have consistently watched and scored it poorly for 7 months now.

The first look showing on 5* makes such comparisons a bit unfair. It has more viewers here overall, but it's doing well in Australia at the moment.

Ouch!
Imagine working on Daybreak, being paid millions of pounds and knowing you get a smaller audience than BBC Look North Leeds

Bit hasty for this article ?

Perhaps they should be waiting for the ratings for Sing if You Can this week before commenting.

before I checked the article, I thought it was going to be "Sing If You Can" axed by the BBC.

Just found the first slightly ridiculous worldwide prediction for the wedding: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13125846

As well as the Royal Family, 50 heads of state are attending the ceremony, which it is anticipated will be watched by up to two billion people on television.

Waterloo Road return date confirmed:

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2...confirmed.html

Really interesting for 2 reasons:

*The fact it's coming back only a month after the last series finished, and as regular viewers know each series starts off a new school year so it will be bizarre it starting in May.
*The slot change-as predicted when LOR moved to 8.30pm. Good move imo, because I've been saying something needs to capitalise on the loss of Corrie and this is perfect because when ITV are airing Midsomer there's usually filler repeats at 7.30pm and ITV could have the head start there and likewise when ITV air football they also have the head start when the pre analysis is going on. I know some said it wasn't a good idea as we enter Summer months, but I don't really think it will affect it, because there is much weaker competition at 7.30pm.

Re #246: shame The Gene Code got less than half a million. It was a brilliant programme.

(Incidentally, I watch BBC4 on terrestrial television, so your categories are a bit odd!)
