According to TVLine, Game of Thrones got 2.2m for its intial 9pm airing, while not disaterous, I think HBO were expecting 3-4m but I think it'll be renewed for a second season anyway.

Confirmed: HBO has already picked up 'Games of Thrones' for a second series. Only 1 ep has aired. Yes, it's that good. 1 minute ago |

Not sure what part of your post was ridiculous, could you explain? In terms of world wide reach, I would expect a massive audience. Really have no idea about what your link to islamic protesters has with the royal wedding television audience?
![]() The article isn't about TV Royal Wedding audiences just that the 2 billion audience figure was mentioned in that article so I pasted a link to the article in question so no one doubts where I got that figure from. I'd be surprised if 2 billion people worldwide watched it, but who knows - but I think that would include those that watched news broadcasts on the day of the event and things like that. |

just dont a digiguide update, do you guys think I should get my hopes up about TBBT & HIMYM returning on 12th, that time slot is TBA, and the previous weeks Glory Daze is marked as last in series.

They will be up to episode 11 on Saturday 7th May, so in theory the following week's double bill could comprise of episode 12 (the last shown on E4 before the break) and episode 13 (shown on E4 the previous Thursday, if it comes back on the 12th). I hope you follow that. Unfortunately, one or two things point towards a longer wait. Last year it didn't return until August, and on the C4 Sales website there is no mention of The Big Bang Theory in the May highlights for E4. The only new show in there is a reality show called Made in Chelsea, but that sounds like the kind of thing which will go in the post-Glee slot after Great British Hairdresser finishes on Monday 2nd May. |

NBC seems to have killed LOLA Quote:
Meanwhile, NBC (4.29 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) offered up fresh installments of "Chuck" (4.20 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.3, #11), "The Event" (3.75 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T12) and "Law & Order: LA" (4.91 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T12) - all of which either matched or hit new series lows.

Would be interesting to know the demos on Glory Daze as although it rates lower than the comedy double bill, I suspect it brings in a different mix of viewers, some of whom may stick around to watch HIMYM and TBBT, ultimately boosting them slightly. Quote:
Royal wedding boring says NBC http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...te-boring.html
I have to say that there seems to be regional variations as well as age variations in the royal wedding interest. I get the feeling that rural areas are more interested (especially up north, than are urban areas). I've been up north recently and there seems to be quite a bit of interest out in the sticks. Quote:
I couldnt beleive that when I read it.
Its amazing how some formats despite being of questionable quality will sell around the world, Total Wipeout being one such example. If Sing If You Can turns into a hit, like the promotional video suggests it is, I will loose total faith in ITV viewers. Not sure even the Yanks could make Sing if you Can a hit, but most shows of that nature turn out very different when they hit US screens. Quote:
That's good. Wish Atlantic would have the one ad break policy across all their programmes. Four breaks in Boardwalk was overkill.
I'm sure they can't be totally happy that Atlantic is the most timeshifted channel. edit: Attentional now reporting 742,500. )Does Sky Anytime show much Sky Atlantic content - IIRC they only used to show the first couple of episodes of a series then expect you to series link the rest. Also is the new Anytime+ service similarly ad free? Quote:

It'll probably only just about reach a third of us Brits - so a third of the world seeing it seems highly unlikely. |

Monday 18th April 2011
BBC1 21:00 - Motorway Cops: 3.9m (16.5%) ITV 21:00 - The Reckoning: 5.4m (22.1%) ![]() With a poor BBC1 offering (albeit MC would have been expected to do better than that I think), a big-trailed Monday night Corrie-lead in ITV drama premiere should be doing better than the low 5s - assuming the 5.4m also includes the +1 figure, so was actually probably 5.1-5.2m? Great result again for EastEnders, although I might have hoped for something closer to an 11m overnight for the big climax of the story, putting it closer to Coro St in the 2011 chart. I guess EE won't have a chance to post threatening numbers again till the autumn now? Quote:
[All include HD and +1 where necessary.
"Where necessary"? Are +1 ratings ever necessary?

I do think they'd have been better off bundling it with Sky Movies and offering uninterupted content. As someone who has little interest in movies, I'd be tempted to subscribe for something like Sky Atlantic (but still probably wouldn't!

Also is the new Anytime+ service similarly ad free? Normally the first two or three episodes of new shows and maybe season finales are on Anytime. FX are the best. They put the whole series of The Walking Dead on completely ad and DOG free!! Haven't got Anytime+ as Sky broadband isn't available on my 'small' exchange. |

Terrestrial refers to the channels that are on analogue (and other platforms). Freeview channels like BBC4 are classed as multichannels.
![]() I was just being pedantic in that anything that is delivered via a rooftop aerial, as opposed to a satellite dish is "terrestrial". I just wish that someone would come up with a different term... In any case, what will those five channels be classified as when analogue is gone altogether? Pretty well everyone who can receive BBC1 can also receive BBC4 (and the others) now, so there is really no need for the distinction. Just humour me

Motorway Cops did alright. Not sure if it was a repeat or not but didn't it have 3m the other week. Meet The Middletons did pretty well for C4, about half a million more than I expected. Solid start for The Hotel Inspector - in line with most of its previous series openers. Strong ratings for the soaps, especially EastEnders which held steady compared to Friday's rating. Good share for the 6pm Home and Away, I think it's the highest in a while as usually it's under 5% these days. |

To be fair, it was probably the least trailed ITV drama premiere from the last year. Most new dramas start getting promoted.... etc etc
Quote:
so I reckon an average of just under 4.5m is quite likely tonight.
Hm, of course. I know what the charge laid against me would be if I'd said that about a BBC1 drama...

You really should have been around before 1955 Robbie when your precious BBC always had a 100% share.
