Doctor Who fans couldn't switch off fast enough then.
There was some unashamed promotion for SYTYCD on Points of View today (They basically said DW is a hit, DSTH is awful, but what is SYTYCD, let's take a look...) ![]() ![]()

ITV 3 has shown US dramas in the past, but I dont think they make a big deal of them.
Moving to NBC, 6 comdeys 3 new seems like a lot, and its not like Community & Parks have ever been highly rated, meanwhile the Office will be with a new lead, so there is quite a bit of risk on this scheulde. To say noting of the other 3 newbies benched til mid-season. More worrying to me is the 4, 2 hour reailty shows, ok so nothing new but I kinda worry by the time The Voice comes around, people might be tried of singing shows after Sing Off and dont forget both Idol & X-Factor will be in the mix. Also 3 remakes of UK shows on the scheulde, The Office, Free Agents & Prime Suspect. On the topic of Prime Suspect I seem to recall Life on Mars US having its cast retooled, and it not helping the show. |

well that is kinda early, NBC wasnt due till tomorrow.
and yeah I would guess Channel 5 would take a look at Prime Suspect as well, they also have Law & Order, so tis not like they ONLY buy cop shows from CBS. I think they should look at Person of Interest for either the main channel or USA. Quote:
Does ITV3 show much current US drama - the only thing I recall them showing is Numbers. C4 used to have second run rights to shows like Prime Suspect and Cracker, so if it takes off perhaps they'd be interested - though also a question of whether an occassional 2/3 hour drama can translate to a 22 week series.

Last I heard all 3 CSIs were going to be renewed, and there is no reason to think NCIS or the Meantlist is going anywhere, so C5 should have too many problems, However Prime Suspect would make a fine edition to Five USA, assuming its a hit of course.
Talking of CBS shows, its amazing how NBC can have all the new shows and scheulde out before upfronts, but CBS can bearly bring itself to confirm the return of the vast majorality of its shows, and has only two confirmed two shows, if this carrys on the CBS upfront will be the only one with anything new or intersting announced at it. |

I thought Doctor Who might see motre of a boostt han that but as someone said, it was the filling of a very mouldy sandwich. As someone else proposed, they should really get rid of So You Think You Can Dance? in one go early in the evening and allow Doctor Who to run up to 8pm, so it attract late viewers to it before Britain's Got Talent. But will moving it later help?
Eurovision peformed exceptionally well, slightly better than I expected. However, the lure of Jedward and the possibility of the UK winning obviously added viwers. Just like post 2009 the BBC have a chance of improving Eurovision's image further, but will they take another backward step with it? On ITV, Sing If You Can is performing adequately but the Cube has bettered that without having such a strong lead out and a lack of genre crossover. It's not been a humilation but it probably shouldn't return. Britain's Got Talent was always going to be hit; I don't quite understand why they aired the strongest episode so far up against Eurovision but there you go. Obviously, not many people care about John Prescott's past. |

Lady GaGa is very late, and a bloke on BBC3 is at least being honest...
"I've got no news. But if a dancer appears, I'll let you know". EDIT: Thank heavens Fearne Cotton is on hand to keep us informed. |

NBC's push in midseason fits with a rumour Deadline posted last night - and I guess it shields them from their usual midseason post football slump. I'd assume either The Voice or Smash will get the Superbowl lead-in? Depending when it is, of course!
The extended run for The Sing Off is interesting - but I suppose it did deliver solid numbers for its December run last year. They'll also be looking for a new judge as it happens because Nicole Scherzinger has jumped ship to X Factor. I wonder how it will perform as a full length series rather than a special run? Especially when faced with DWTS. I think having Smash & The Playboy Club share the slot is a good move - serialised drama struggles when it has to hold one slot all season and be mixed with repeats. No doubt that Smash has got the better end of the bargain there, though. Very surprised to see Harry's Law moved into a 9pm slot on Wednesdays. In fact, I think Wednesays will be an issue for NBC if this is the plan because I don't hold much hope for those 8pm comedies. And I could see Grimm struggling on Fridays. I'm not sure whether or not it's good news for ITV that Prime Suspect is airing on Thursdays at 10pm. It's traditionally a strong slot, but it faces The Mentalist (unless it moves) and gets a lead-in from a debut comedy. Incidentally, ITV Studios last US production, Eleventh Hour, aired at 10pm on Thursdays for CBS. They've also got 3 sitcoms unscheduled plus no spot for Awake. Unscheduled shows rarely go on to do well - I think NBC still has a sitcom on the shelf from last season. It's inevitable that they're just going to squeeze some of these new ones in next April with minimal promotion. Come November Sweeps, Mondays will probably be up vs last year. Tuesdays shouldn't change much. Wednesdays can't get any worse at 8pm but I think the 9-11pm block will be lower than 2 hours of Law & Order (LA & SVU) were last November. Thursdays will depend largely on The Office but again, Prime Suspect can't do worse than The Apprentice last season. Overall, I guess it's a reasonably solid schedule. There is far less drama on the September schedule than I'd have expected but the positive there is that they can promote those shows more heavily. Perhaps a sigh of relief from FOX that X Factor will get a clear run as well. Certainly nothing in that fall schedule to make rivals nervous (midseason Mondays however, could be very strong). |

Doctor Who: The Doctor's Wife - 5-Minute Breakdown
---- 19:20 - 2.92m 19:25 - 2.75m Perhaps the Beeb should put some Ronnies repeats on BBC1 at 7.15 on Saturdays for the summer? Quote:
A couple of scheduling points for BBC1:
- According to an article today, Luther will be returning in June. Looking at BBC Press Office, it looks like 'Egypt: What Lies Beneath' - a 90-minute documentary - will be shown on Sunday 29th May. - 'Lee Mack's All Star Cast' will most likely be starting on Saturday 18th June. That's because each episode will be recorded on the previous Wednesday and according to SRO Audiences, its first episode films on 15th June. And, depending on slot, but Lee Mack's show could bomb if the weather is as nice in June/July as some are hoping. Totally Saturday Mark II. Really can't see the point in airing big new shows in June and July as the weather is at its best (one hopes - or was that April?) and people are on holiday. |
