Bernie Ecclestone has officially denied there have been any talks or any contact with Murdoch's people. The present contract with the BBC runs until after the 2013 GP.

well this is intersting

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...g-airhead.html

The AIs for Daybreak get a rare mention on this thread, and then hours later an article about them appear in the Daily Mail.

One line I think is intersting in the article, is the one about the chemstiry dying when Christine got a huge pay deal, cant help but wonder if it changed how viewers saw her as well, that said I dont know if its the pay cheque that is the problem, its the ealry morning.

Journalists are lazy - they trawl through internet forums looking for quotes and story ideas. Many times people on these forums have been directly quoted.

Indeed, the Daily Heil quoted me about Downton Abbey just recently.

Some early morning teasers: The Reckoning well under 4m overall, losing out to Candy Cabs in the 9pm hour, which itself only got 3.6m.

Obviously the weather seemed to affect a lot of things - Emmerdale with a 36% share but with only around 6.3m viewers.

BBC Three had a great night, 3.5% share in primetime, after strong performances from 'So What If My Baby Is Born Like Me?' (nearly 1m), EastEnders (nearly 1.5m) and White Van Man holding up well at 10.30pm.

Channel 4's Campus down to 381k (2.3%), beaten by C4+1, ITV3, BBC3, and all the terrestrials in the 10pm hour, less than 100k on +1.

Meanwhile, Fern also down to alarming levels: 564k (5.3%)

Yikes at the ratings for Campus - i watched it and thought it was ok.

I quite liked the Campus pilot but I really can’t be arsed to devote 65 minutes every week to a single comedy show for 6 weeks running. It seems others feel the same too. Those ratings are an embarassment.

Big Turn-Off Tuesday all round then last night!

What was the nation doing?

Campus is a ratings disaster. I quite like it, but an hour is far too long. The massively over-played Vice Chancellor character spoils it, but some of the other characters are quite endearing and funny. The interaction between the repressed accounts chap and the HR woman is great.

They should, however, have a found a role for Mark Heap. He'd be great as an academic.

Crap Tuesday again for ITV.
BBC 1 did better but not great for 9PM.

I am surprised by the Reckoning ratings, I didn't watch it, but loads in work yesterday were talking about it, sounded OK actually, with a good rating Monday I thought it would retain a few more vieweres, maybe it will timeshift well? Perhaps with the good weather, alot of people gave TV a miss last night.

Indeed, also a VERY popular sport for British viewers too, with so many teams, staff and drivers based in Britain.

Cold hard fact, FTA TV ratings of F1 (even shown in the early hours of the morning) have higher ratings that Pay TV football!

Wow, low pretty much everywhere, all the people seemed to go to BBC Three .
I expected The Hunks to do better, but tbh that is a decent rating for the channel I reckon.

I wonder what would happen if BBC Three starting showing Family every weeknight at 9pm. It's seems to be default viewing for people my age, channel-floaters would just stick it on.

nice rating for BBC 3 EE again, its like it was this time last year, like the storyline or not the aftermath is proving a hit with viewers.

Military Driving School is yet another ITV factual flop.

And they've destroyed Countrywise by making it an hour and putting it in that slot.

Although haven't the long range forecasts been completely wrong for the last few years. Indeed, I thought they'd been abandoned as a result.

And yet these people still watch it, so despite the low appreciation they must favour it over Breakfast and other alternatives for some reason.

Not very often I agree with the Daily Mail, but I've always said Christine Bleakley is rated far higher than she deserved to be - she's just awful IMO.

Think it was close between C4 and C4+1, but rather alarming to nearly be beaten by the +1 channel. Sex Ed Show seems down too - sure that's been in the 2.5m+ range in the past.

Not too surprise Fern falls considering the weather - wonder too if Deal or No Deal benefits from their being no Pointless this week.

I agree - it was the one pilot I thought I'd make the effort to watch the series, but the scheduling just really put me off - both it being an hour and also being out on it's own on Tuesdays.

Even at an hour long I think beginning Countrywise at 7.30pm would work better for ITV. Really though a 24-part half-hour series would be the best - though presumably in the 8pm hour Countrywise does now include ads, which it wouldn't have done in the slots against EastEnders.

the funny thing is I dont recall either of them being "rated" any amount, before ITV got involved.

Some absolutely dire ratings there, particuarly from Ch4. Fern, Hollyoaks and Campus all performed awfully. I didn't think it was possible for a new scripted show to fall that low in the 10pm slot and I didn't think Fern would go that low.

Really impressive shares for Ch5's soaps in the teatime hour. I think that's Home & Away's highest this year, and possibly Neighbours too, but CSI seems dented by the ITV drama competition.

Awful night for ITV really-another factual flop, Countrywise fails to improve and The Reckoning only marginally better than cheap factual. I thought it would have at least been above 4m, but it seems nothing can attract viewers to ITV on Tuesdays now.

BBC1 held up well up until 9pm, but Candy Cabs was well down on its premiere two weeks ago, but I reckon a return was unlikely anyway, especially with Jo Joyner contracted to EE now.
