If the BBC are tied into another 2 series of the show, they could always give it the BGT treatment and choose a nice early summer slot and dump the whole series into one week, with live shows Monday through to the final on the Saturday night.

Press release out - sounds like it might be a bit like Wanna Bet? Except it'll be the audience of thousands betting on the celebrities doing the challenges? Or maybe I'm getting it wrong - it's not the clearest press release I've ever read.

It'll come down to the execution, I guess. Gameshows seem really difficult to get right just now. My early prediction is that by putting up so much money, it could fall victim to the Pokerface curse - where even a solid 5m a night won't be enough for a renewal. And unlike The Cube, this one won't get any cheaper over time.

I take on board the demographic spread the AI system may have but that I cant see many other unique advtanages it has.

I accept Breakfast shows are goign to be lower, you can be thrilled or gripped by a drama but your not going to be when watching a Breakfast show. However, the figures for Daybreak seem too low for any show, regardless of genre or timeslot, that gets a consistent audience.

The press release makes it sound remarkably complicated.

The summary on the official website is a bit more exact, and confirms the show will air in September. I thought the live broadcast would come from Wembley but the website confirms that the 'final, live stage' takes place in the 'Red and Black Studio'.

Good, the BBC need to keep more of their sports as snooker has been very loyal to the BBC for decades and since ITV largely abandoned it in the nineties, it's more important to the sport.

The Gadget Show a moneymaker given the success of the live show but I think it needs a back to basiscs revamp, maybe cutting back the episodes to 2 10-13 episodes series a year and dropping a presenter or two.

The Gadget Show needs a complete overhaul!

It actually premiered on BBC News at 9.30pm, which made sense due to the uncertain snooker finish time.


So that backs up the critics then with ITV winning in every regard - that is surely the best AI for Daybreak too.

Good move - T4 really needs it's own content rather than just repeats of E4/C4 shows and after another much needed break the time is about right for it to return.

But that probably explains why ITV's coverage did comparatively better. UTV have always outperformed the rest of the network haven't they? Only place in the UK were the ITV regional news beats the BBC IIRC.

Those three timings are incorrect. BBC Regional News was at 1845, ITV News at 1815 and 5 News at 5 was at 1710 (despite the name). Are those ratings for the actual slots those 3 bulletins aired in, or are they for the times mentioned?

Case sensitive did well. Exile dipped but I would imagine it'll hold pretty firm tonight considering the lead in. The ITV soaps were dented by the snooker and performed pretty poorly but EastEnders did well.

According to a poster on another forum:

Presumably, SYTYCD results will be about 20 mins, so that National Lottery fits in before Eurovision at 8pm.

This is different to what the BBC Press Office is currently saying though so maybe better to wait for confirmation when the schedules are finalised tomorrow afternoon.

The possible scheduling of SYTYCD before DW does suggest perhaps they'll do that in future weeks and push DW closer to the 7pm slot.

It's for the actual slot.

I agree the Look East example is bad and has been bugging me for days. But the generic descriptions for programmes a couple of weeks or more ahead has always been the case. They will get updated with more thorough descriptions in later updates.

The thing that annoys me more about DigiGuide since it got took over is the decline in quality of the editorial side of things. Suddenly half of the TV picks on a given day are pay TV broadcasts. Yesterday was a joke with a repeat of Spartacus on Sky1 one of the day's highlights- yeah right! Today is even worse with a load of obscure pay TV shows like Confessions of an Animal Hoarder, Victory by Design and Heavy being picked. I'm not saying none of these shows are worthy of inclusion but the pay TV to FTA TV ratio is all wrong. It used to be a good source for what's best on the box but lately it isn't very represenatitive at all and you could be fooled into thinking they are being paid to endorse some of these shows.

Also I find it odd how they have always been so far behind with Channel 5, I get the advanced listings pdf, probaly the same time as them, they could be doing better, but that was the case before the take over.
