SIYC is doing OK, but I still think it should be doing slightly better with the poor competition and the lead out. Similarly with Life Stories I think last nights episode should have been nearer 4.5m considering it featured The Hoff.
Better for DW, but SYTYCD still flopping. Casualty still below par and the only explanation I can see for this is the poor lead in, because it should be around 5.5m when it's main competition is only getting 4m.
Some strong shares for CDWM there and it always seems to do well in the early Saturday slots. MPD stabilising Saturdays, although not reaching the heights of last series.
Nice to see everything on Ch5 make 1m and a strong share for CSI:NY considering the late slot. If it does end up being axed (hopefully not), then Ch5 would do well to promote it as CSI:NY's last ever episode and maybe have a CSI:NY themed weekend across 5:USA and Ch5? (This is assuming the show will be axed before the remaining 6 episodes can play out?) The show has been a vital part of the schedule for the past few years and although repeats will probably still manage 1m+ in the slot it will mean there will be more repeats of the same episodes if no new ones are being produced.”

Well it will take something quite unforseen to change SYTYCD fortunes. In the bits I saw last night the judges seemed to be trying to be more confrontational and at one point one of the contestants mother got up and remonstrated with Nigel Lythgoe. The problem is that it does not alter the basic problem that people dont go for modern dance and have no interest in choosing someone for which the prize is a one way ticket out of the public eye. For a show which takes up a quarter of the year in primetime there needs to be more than articles about how low the viewing figures are.The BBC's endless search for another entertainment hit isnt answered here.
