Forgotten gems of the 00s
Was having a clear out earlier and was going through some CDs that I had created from the days when I was back at school and used to bring along a portable cd player. Came across some songs that I havent heard since back then and brought back many memories. Please post any that you think were forgotten quite quickly (even if the one I've posted below is not to your tastes)

Like the OP, I used to take a portable CD player to school and subsequently college with me. I was finishing school in the very early 2000s.
Steve Wright played X Press 2 ft David Byrne not so long ago. I remember the Pirates and Shola Ama very well - it was the 'answer' to Mario Winans' 'I Don't Wanna Know.' I was at university when they were out. There are loads of forgotten gems from the early and mid 2000s and though it's so easy to say 'music was better back then,' some of the music from that era is fantastic. Some of my favourites include: The 411 - On My Knees Fatboy Slim & Macy Gray - Demons Santos - Camels The Avalanches - Since I Left You (interesting video) Dirty Vegas - Ghosts - most would probably remember 'Days Go By,' which was another great track. Spooks - Things I've Seen Spooks - Karma Hotel Truth Hurts - Addictive The Music - Getaway Coloursound - Fly With Me - remember hearing this on Sara Cox's breakfast show. Audio Bullys - Real Life Raven Maize - The Real Life - remember watching this on Top of the Pops. L.O.V.E. ft. Malin Elino - We Should Fall In Love DB Boulevard - Another Point of View Shakedown - At Night M&S presents Girl Next Door - Salsoul Nugget |

Jerk it out by The Caesers is a classic track you don't hear played much.

not being funny...but are those tracks widely 'forgotten'?... maybe its cos im older and to me hits from the last decade arnt 'forgotten'...
There's no way this thread could simply have all the songs people have forgotten over time. I think it's more about sharing some of your favourite tracks from the 00s, which might well turn out to be a "forgotten gem" for someone. |

Brilliant
I had completely forgotten about thisI bought it the week it was released - one of the few songs I've thought, "I must have that song NOW." It's one of those 'lying on a beach somewhere' kind of songs really. A few months later I Monster released 'Daydream in Blue,' which I also loved. |

Isn't it great? I always say it's difficult for me to compile a list of my favourite songs of all time but I can safely say The Avalanches' 'Since I Left You' would be on it.

Of course they are forgotten to "some people", there was quite a few in that list I'd not heard of in a while and probably wouldn't have thought of if it wasn't for that post. So thanks!
