Hi, wonder if I could ask for some help.
My current mobile is a Sony Ericcson W300i on Orange Pay As You Go, I've had it for over four years, it's pretty much on it's way out and I think it's time for an upgrade.
I pay £10 a month and get 300 free texts and very stripped down version of the internet, plus 600 minutes to listen to music on Orange Monkey (of which very rarely there's a song I like anyway!). Calls aren't cheap, but I rarely make them, mostly texts.
I've decided to get a decent phone (in comparison) this time, so I'm considering tying myself down to a contract, but hopefully getting similar to what I have now.
Ideally I'd like a phone / contract that can provide me with a decent amount of texts per month and free or cheap internet, for a similar price. I know with what I'm asking, I'm not exactly going to get an iPhone4, but I still like the idea of owning a smart phone.
Recently, I saw an advert at Carphone Warehouse for the HTC Wildfire, the phone was free with 200 free texts on Talk Mobile with unlimited internet, £12 a month, two year contract. Two years would have been fine as I've had my current one for 4, I'm not a chop/changer. However, as they say if it's too good to be true, it probably is, and I read far too many scare stories and was put way of going to Carphone Warehouse.
Free was obviously a bonus, but if I'm going to get a phone for around a tenner a month afterwards, I wouldn't mind making an initial payment for the phone. (after all, this one cost £100 back in 2007 and I've been been paying a tenner a month for 4 years now!)
So, can anyone help?
