Anyone been to a gig at Indigo2?
Hi everyone, just wondered if anyone has ever been to a gig at Indigo2 before and if so, what it's like?
Going to a show there in May and have never been before. From what I can make out, it's a fairly small venue so hoping it will be quite an intimate thing |

I really liked the place. It has a small tiered seating area in front of the stage, definitely making it more intimate. It also has a large dance floor/bar area underneath the seating area where you can also see the stage from. Bit of a different design but I really enjoyed it when I was there.

It's standing at the show I'm going to so I'm hoping to be able to squidge up to the front at some point too

Sounds good. In Liverpool there is 'Mountford Hall'. A great venue. IT has a an upstairs balcony and the bar is the side of the stage so wherever you are you can see the band. However they never have enough gigs there. Most gigs are at the O2 academy which is a sweat box with an upstairs balcony. However last bande I seen there was The Black Keys and they where ****in amazing

Love The Black Keys! I've never actually been to a gig at a small venue before and I'm really looking forward to it. Have a few thigs lined up this year, the biggest will be Foo Fighters at Milton Keynes Bowl with my 9 year old son, smallest will be Adam Ant at Indigo2 (I am MOST excited about Adam Ant
) I can't wait to hear 'Wasting Light' live. I cannot stop listening to that album it is so good

and don't get me started on The Black Keys. AMAZING band. How can 2 dudes make so much noise????? They blew me away live and they look like bad geeks LOL which makes it so much better. Proper blues that sounds like it is being played in the delta. No bullshit between songs just 'yeh Thanks' and then straight into another great tune. One of the best bands I have seen live. The total opposite of The Foo Fighters showiness but no less enjoyable.

I went there and got a seat in Kings Row up in the balcony . It was a great view of the stage as I was in row A and central . It's expensive in the bar upstairs though but I'd definitely recommend it as it's the VIP section and very plush , I'm going back in May too for Fantasia

I've been there a couple of times, for Squeeze and In the Flesh (pink Floyd cover band). It's a great venue, one thing I would recommend is if you plan to eat before hand make sure you get there early as the restaurants and bars are always heaving if theres something on in the main O2.

I went to a gig there last year. There is seating upstairs but the majority of it is standing on a huge dance floor with a bar right at the back. I like it, definitely more intimate than the main venue obviously. But yeah I agree for food and drinks at the o2 you must get there early. I have gone to a lot of gigs there and by half four you cant get a seat so get there at 4 at the latest. You do get more chance of seating if you're eating though-if its drinks only you'll be standing though as every single restuarant at the o2 from 4pm onwards has their tables for dining only on event nights.

Yes unfortunately have had first hand experienc eof the eating issue at the o2! Took my son to see Girls Aloud there a couple of years ago and decided to get something to eat and make a real evening of it. First choice Nandos with an hour queue and then their gas supply broke. Tried a few other places, all with hour minimum waits so ended up eating in the arena. VERY costly!
All sounds good about the intimacy thing though, hopefully I will be able to get up close and personal to the heavenly Mr Ant
