Just watched the documentary on BBC, and it's got me in the Eurovision mood once again haha!

I really quite like our entry, It's good to see the BBC actually bothering to take a bit more seriously.

Blue seem to be known all over Europe, Is this true? (im not really sure) If it is then that's a bonus.

After listening to the other entries, ours definitely stands out from the rest. But for good reasons this time.. Unlike last year.. Still think we should enter Jade again though, she was amazing.

I heard rumours that Hurts wanted to do Eurovision this year too

They are MASSIVE in Europe. If that's true, the panel are idiots or deliberately throwing it to get out of hosting it at the same time as the Olympics (which I think is the case).

To answer the thread title, no. Not a chance.

I think they probably will!

They're so horrendously awful that they'll go down well, I think.

But Mr.F, bear in mind as a musician, if they win, the musical output of your whole country will forever be known as simply "Jedward"... are you sure you're okay with that!?

Jedward can't actually sing in time.

Their downfall of the competition will be the live performance. They won't have a backing track and they'll have them 4 backing singers, and it's going to sound god damn awful.

But do we think we won't come last? I'm hoping top 10, Then i'll be happy.

I blame cheap package holidays. Before them, those jonny foreigners had no idea just how ghastly we really are. No chance of ever winning eurovision in a million years now our sad little secret is out, even if the amazing Hurts boys did decide to throw their hat in the ring (or vice versa).

I don't think we'll come last but I don't think Blue are in any way striking enough to get the biggest response out of all the acts.

If we can survive Johnny Logan and Michael ''Bogorrah'' Flatley, we can survive Jedward.

If Blue Finish above Jedward I'll be very happy anyone who thinks Jedward are going to win are sadly mistaken, but its the most exciting contest ever because of the artists picked!

We don't (regarding winning). Realisticially these days its going to be an Eastern Bloc country winning. Germany also won last year based on being neighbours with them.

Having said that, I think Blue are quite famous in Europe so you never know...

Prominent? No.
I think she ran for President, but lost. Or it could have been for something in Europe.

Anyway, she judges the awful, embarrassing mess that is The All-Ireland Talent Show now.

Britain are just too unpopular politically to win the Eurovision ever again. It's never a musical contest, it's always what country likes the next.

No Germany won as they had the best song. As did Norway the year before. Both Western countries. Oh and Finland a few years back.

This is what really annoys me about our country. We do not do bad because we have no neighbours. We do bad because our songs have been utter mince. In the last 10 years we have sent 2 good songs and the both finished top 5.

So as Jade proved in 2009 if we have a good song we can win.

Oh and judging by fans reactions across Europe I think Blue have every chance to win. They are in the top 3 with the bookies and topping polls all over the place

Oh come on, 2007, we send in an awful singing dancing cabin crew known as Scooch and end up second to bottom. Ukraine send in what should've been an equally awful transvestive and come second...Having said that Ukraine's entry that year was so bad it was actually extremely good....Maybe the Eastern Bloc do know how to do better novelty acts than us? But if that had been the UK entry I gurantee we would've ended up bottom.

I reckons Hungary has a very big chance of winning.

Mind you, Pop Justice have always been very vocal since the start about how they think Sweden will win. And when you compare the vapid 'I Can' to Eric Saade's 'Popular', it's not hard to see why.

Anything else think Lee Ryan is being bear-hugged when he tried to project his voice? He sounds so out of place and quite frankly, in pain.

Most of the Europeans i've read from online wish for us to do well. I think a lot of the horror and the backlash from them in the eurovision is because they know we have great musicians and music but we send such utter crap to eurovision why should we be taken seriously?

However there seems to be a lot of love for Blue. I never knew they were soo loved around the rest of Europe. So we shall see. I think the performance will sell the song even though song is ok. Hopefully it's not soo cheesy.

Politically more so than us yes. It doesn't help that we fly round the world policing every war that happens.

Yeah, I suppose it makes a nice change from sending in nobodies...i.e Josh Dubovie, Andy Abraham, Scooch....JEMENI!!! (I was only 10 that year but even then I thought they were awful) and letting the rest of Europe thinking that people like them are the best British music can offer.

Didn't they introduce the panel though, to combat the politicisation of the voting? I remember the year they brought it in Jade Ewen did very well, but I'm not sure if they stuck with the panel.

Either way, Blue are too intrinsically bland to win anything.

Mind you, Leon Jackson.

Or better still, Joe McElderry for Eurovison 2012.....XD

Jade was the best entry we've had in a long time...shame we followed that up with the catastrophe that was Josh last year.
