And yet their interaction still felt natural. I liked how Tanya said she would choose her life over Max any day of the week if pushed but you could see how hard it was for her to say that one day they would just finish it and her and him would come to an end. We know that's impossible and she knows it too.

Back in 2008.

3.44 onwards. It's the most amazingly acted moment between two people on Eastenders imo. And as the conversation builds you see how it just sums up their whole relationship. I remember thinking at the time does emotional chemistry get any better than this. Absolutely electric.”

Thank you for the link. It is a very emotional scene.

BUMP!!!

They killed me in tonight's ep. Something about Jo and Jake that makes me root for Max and Tanya EVERYTIME. No matter how recycled their scenes are, their chemistry is electric. They do heartbreaking, angsty scenes so well. I don't believe Max is in love with Kirsty in any meaningful way though. Like Tanya says, he has a 'type' and in Kirsty I also think he sees someone damaged like him, so there is an element of pity, mixed in with geniune caring feelings, and the added cheap thrill of being chased by a cheap woman, but it's not significant imo. Not an overwhelming type of love. More like unfinished business. Again, another plot device to keep Tanya and Max apart while Jo goes off and raises some kids. The problem is that watching them is becoming exhausting and this in realistic terms should be the final nail in the coffin. But Max and Tanya are never really off the table so #on to the next one#
