Copy from PVR to dvd
I have a Humax PVR -9300Y and a LG DRT389H DVD recorder.
These are set up with a SCART from the DVD into the PVR, then a SCART from the PVR to a Sony TV. (I gave up on various attempts to use HDMI cables, despite solid advice from helpful people on here.) This works OK, except that the TV remote doesn't control the volume from the Sony home theatre system - which it did with HDMI - but I could not get it all to play nicely. We all think the Humax is an excellent piece of equipment. My Wife never managed to tape anything in 30 years with VCR's, but learnt to use the Humax box in no time. Anyway... Can I copy programs from the Humax PVR to DVD? I tried once, but it just recorded whatever the dvd was tuned to. Thank you for any help. |

Bst way to connect would be a scart from your Humax into the second scart socket on the DVD recorder, then another scart cable from the first scart socket (probably marked TV or AV1) on the DVD recorder into the TV. You can then us an HDMI cable to connect the Humax direct to the TV.
To record onto DVD you select the appropriate scart socket on the TV to display what the DVD recorder is doing, then using your DVD recorder remote, select the AV2 or AUX input on the DVD recorder which should display the Humax's output. You can then record, but you have to tell the DVD recorder you want to record from the AV2 input or of course, it will just assume you want to record from it's tuner. To watch the Humax on it's own, just select the HDMI input on your TV. |

Firstly connect the Humax vcr scart to the DVDR recorder vcr scart. Select the dvdr input on the TV so you can see it's tuners output. You now need to find the button on the dvdr remote that changes the recording source from it's built in tuner. It may be a button marked AV or one with a TV screen with an arrow pointing in. You will know wjhen you have the right one because the humax picture will be on the TV. Now when ypu record you will record the Humax box.

captainkremmen,
Thank you for your reply. When I used an HDMI cable to connect the Humax direct to the TV, I could not get either TV or Humax sound through my Sony home theatre system. I know it is not set up right, but I could not get the sound working. |
