ITV showing too Much bad BGT acts
kennic

BGT first show this year showed way too much bad acts and not enough good acts, i guess this reason put people off watching it, so ITV lets see more good acts in main show and the bad ones on itv2

you have a valid point here...there were many other acts that the judges loved and got three yes's... but we didnt even get a glimpse of them on stage

i do think itv are dragging a dead horse with BGT with out these reality shows like BGT and The x Factor ITV would struggle, i do remember in the 80's and early 90's, ITV made good shows like YOU BET, GLADIATORS, THE PRICE IS RIGHT, FAMILY FORTUNES, TAKE YOUR PICK, even ANT & DEC SATURDAY NIGHT TAKEAWAY.

BGT is turning into Big Brother tired of the same routine.
I do think the Hoff man is a waste.

I can't say I was all to thrilled with the episode and I've not read the forum so don't know the general opinion but didn't think much of the Michael guy. I thought he was pretty average but they've been hyping him up as the next big BGT act. I think they need to realise that we won't always get a Paul Pott's or a Susan Boyle every year.

I agree BGT uses media to kinda make us go with an act like susan boyle and paul potts and, why dont they just show us all the good acts and let us make our minds up, ITV2 is for showing bad acts.

I hate watching the audition stages of BGT and X Factor.

The idiots, as harsh as that might seem, that is exactly what they are, who go on these shows painted Gold singing Spandau Ballet or painted blue and acting like a dolphin, honestly do these people think that they really are going to win this contest, as if they do then they really need medical help and are completely deluded, as they are just an embarrassment to themselves.

It might have been slightly comical the first time you saw acts like this, but the main reason the viewing figures are down is that it is not just me that finds acts like the ones I mentioned above funny, they are just stupid and pathetic and a majority of people no longer want to watch the idiots like this.

It would have been nice to have seen some of the acts they were actually quite good, even if they were not potential winners, do we need to see an old granny flapping around the stage with a harmonica in her mouth, or a bloke painted gold storming off the stage when Michael McIntyre did what 99% of the nation would have done, told the stupid tosser to stop as you are not talented at all and you are never going to win this, so why prolong things.

It is the same with the X Factor, as ITV really drag that out and show weeks and weeks of auditions of mostly crap people with no talent at all, as do we really need to watch to 80 year old granny dressed up like Madonna year after year, as they are not funny and if ITV did not put these kind of acts on the telly, the deluded element would not bother turning up.

I am glad it is not just me that thinks this, as I thought I was getting old and miserable and I am only 40, but there comes a time when ITV need to look at things and wonder why people are not watching any more, but the talentless acts on a show called Britain's Got Talent is the reason.

I agree. They're showing like 90% bad acts and only 10% good acts. It should be the other way around or 80/20 to good/bad. I would be much more impressed if they actually shown talent as that's is what the show is about. The odd bad one is ok, but not the whole show.

I was listening to the radio last night and there wasa woman that phoned up and said that there were loads of good auditionees at Liverpool, but they didn't show any of them. I know it's an entertainment show, but there is a line between entertainment and rubbish.

When I tune in to watch a talent show I hope to see talent - there is enough of it about but for some reason we have to put up with watching absolute rubbish for 85%- 90% of the programme. I don't know what the reasoning is behind this policy.
People must just go on for a bet with their mates at the pub, but why give idiots airtime, and snigger/mock the ones who clearly aren't the full shilling - when others who have worked so hard all year don't get shown at all.
Its turning into a complete farce.
Saturdays programme was awful.

Let us see what youtube auditions can bring in!

Also not sure how many of you agree that there is huge difference between a skill and talent

ITV has a show in production at the moment called Born to Shine, which should air this summer. I hope it will showcase some real talent

How may times have they done BGT now? Four or five? I would imagine that appearing on BGT amidst all the oddities isnt exactly a career plan if you are classically trained or simply excel at something. Why would you put yourself through it? Having your skills picked apart by Hoff Amanda and MM probably isnt on many peoples list of ideal scenarios and the live element is a virtual bear pit based on the whims of a phone vote.
So BGT will continue to attract dog acts, people who paint themselves blue and tearful children. As for real talent I think it might have shot its bolt.

BGT was good to start off with but yeah a lot of pub mate take bets to appear on it, i'm sure the smart financial bloke who painted himself blue and did an impression of a dolphin did it for a bet, come on ITV stop messing around and give us GOOD TALENT

There was definitely not enough talent on Saturday night's programme, that's for sure.

Agreed. Was really surprised how much of the show was made up of the 'bad' acts. I know that in the later stages, the good acts are all that we'll see but would still rather get to know some of them early on rather than watching people painted blue, etc.

Just said the same in another thread, got to be the worst 'bad act' opening yet, boring now !!

When I was at the Liverpool auditions I cannot recall many bad acts that got buzzed off at all. Most of the acts were either amazing or average. The only act I saw on Saturdays show that was at the auditions I was watching was the dolphin man!

I read in another forum that many acts who got standing ovations and 3 Yes from Judges where later told not to turn up for reveal day

I'm being very pedantic here, but it's members of Syco who edit the show, not ITV. I assume ITV would have a say on editorial content, but considering the ratings that both Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor get they wouldn't want to upset the bosses.

I don't think the launch show was a disaster as it was more about establishing the panel then promoting talent...if you couldn't get on with the panel the first show would've been heavy going to say the least! But the second show needs to focus more on talent if this series is going to be a success IMO.

They are showing bad acts because most of the acts are bad. I used to laugh at them but not any more. They are just boring. It is the same on X Factor. Do the ITV bosses no by know that we do not find them funny?

He was an utter joke! No one in front of him knew how to react! They all just sat there looking completely baffled!

I think they've completely miscalculated what's popular with the public. They churn out the best and worst of - shows and then there's the general hilarity when, in the Final of the XFactor, Simon showcases a group of the most atrocious singers. So, whoever "they" are, have assumed that we find the endless string of embarrassing acts, entertaining. Sure we need a few, but the amount they showed on Saturday was ridiculous. We want some balance and to enjoy the talent too!

Yep, have to agree. It was a case of "here we go again" when BGT wheeled out all the bad acts just like X Factor do, with very few good ones and those that got through we hardly saw!

I am not going to watch it again if they do the same thing this Saturday. Sorry ITV.

They couldn't care less as long as the ratings remain high - which they are.
