Talk about insensitive?

Half-sarcastic "I just love a happy ending" seemed more than a little out of place given that the episode dealt with some extremely sensitive issues including mental illness and deep rooted shock.

It may have been happy for Kat/Alfie, but it's surely not going to be the fairytale ending, there will be issues for the couple in dealing with this.

Not to mention a mentally destroyed Ronnie lying in a police cell, that's hardly "happy" is it?

It should have been a silent ending.

Get over it. It's a soap. It's all moved on now... The Announcer was having a laugh. Take a chill pill..

It's all made up. Regardless of the emotive issues involved, none of it's real.

I agree that it's hardly a happy ending for Ronnie & Jack though.

It was inappropriate and unnecessary particularly given that the BBC did it's usual trick of putting in an advert filler on the screen for the sake of it. I hope people complain to POV and that the Controller of BBC1 is forced to apologise. In any event a BBC action line reminder should have been shown again given the conclusion to such a sensitive storyline. The BBC's overpaid executives seem to mess up far too often and tonight confirmed as much.

Ofcom don't regulate the BBC

It was nice to hear an announcer showing some personality instead of sounding like a robot reading a script.

Same , don't think he meant any offence. A lot of announcers make jokes before and after EE.

No big deal to me but the thread did make me wonder ... who actually decides whether an episode gets the "if you have been affected by any of the issues..." or a witty remark

EDIT: ftr i prefer witty remark

You just need to calm down looking into it way too much, I can't decide if these posts are serious.

Alright guys - chill out. I just got emotionally invested in the episode and just thought it unnecessary for the announcer to pass comment.
