2Ghz Dual Core Samsung phone
Whilst HTC may be crowing about their 1.2Ghz Dual Core phone the HTC Sensation, Samsung will be producing a 2Ghz Dual Core phone next year to make it look as slow as a week in the jail. Battery life should also be interesting

I'm not fussed about these processors because it only takes badly optimised software to balls it up

Fairly sure HTC, Motorola et al will respond. It's just that Samsung are boasting about it first before they've even got one dual-core phone out the door. Besides, by next year the quad-core Tegra 3 will be out, so there's no benefit in pushing out a faster dual-core processor.

Yeah, saw this yesterday at work on Engadget.
Would it be fair to assume there's going to be a slowdown in showing off the fastest clock speeds soon? We must be nearing the point with mobiles when manufactures and customers say focusing solely on the fastest clock speed is not a huge focus of optimization anymore. Squeeze me a 2920XM into a HTC ChuckNorris with decent battery life without it being the size of a keyboard. |
