mobile internet crap

I'm on 500mb and been using it for 3 days. Now only have 400mb left. Haven't downloaded anything, just used it for websites/forums and IM+. It's ideally got to last me a month - no chance.

Can't use WiFi either as we don't have brosdbrand. We are too far away from exchange to get broadband.

Might cancel this mobile internet with o2. Using dial up tethered to phone at minute to save my usage.

500mb doesn't go very far if you're tethering. Have you considered a MiFi (with a higher allowance) ? Much more flexible.

Consider going with either Three or giffgaff - they both do unlimited data. Otherwise, based on your usage, 1GB sounds about right. Do be aware most data plans don't allow tethering and computer browsers eat up a lot more data than mobile phone browsers.

Tethering and mobile internet are different. I'm tethered through my pc to my dial up so my mobile internet with o2 has nothing to do with this.

You can get a 3 Sim for £7 that has 3GB data pre loaded if your phones unlocked to use for home use.

I use dolphin hd. Opera would be the best option, but the settings aren't right for ne. Dolphin works just fine. o2 allow Tethering as it has nothing to do with them. If I tether up using usb cable then I just get the internet through my dial up.

Personally I would tether - don't think I could cope with dial-up internet speeds for my PC

Because of where we live o2 is the only reliable signal so a different provider provider isn't an often. Been there and tried.

I do. Dial up through my mobile is faster sometimes which is a bonus. Othertimes, like earlier on, it is beyond frustrating.

Wow. Giffgaff looks amazing value. Are they any good?. I'm ordering a free sin from then anyway.

If I wasn't in contract then id move permanently to them. Also, going to be annoying taking my sim out everytime I want to use the internet and I use the internet all the time. Not ideal at all. shocked at the cheap prices though.

Thanks

Slightly puzzled as to why you have a desire with no wireless in your house and no good provider except O2.
Make sure you do any system updates or app updates when you find a wireless connection ,else you will use even more of your allowance.
Giffgaff are fine, although they have had 2 hiccups with the O2 18+ content and loss of coverage for half a day. The only concern most people have is that if they get increased takeup whether they can cope with that. But then as it is PAYG, you can easily jump ship.
