I've cancelled my Sky+HD sub and it turns off next month, so which FreesatHD PVR is the best to go for? also, is there such a thing as a FreesatHD PVR that also includes FreeviewHD so I'd get the best of both worlds seeing as there's a few different channels on each?

Cheers

The Humax is good. Many here bought one when it came out over two years ago and have been very happy with it.

The Samsung may very well be good when it's teething problems are sorted out.

So if you want to buy now, probably go for the Humax. If you are prepared to wait you can see how the Samsung pans out.

There is currently no dual FreeSat/Freeview box.

Icecrypt imported by Turbosat do a mixed DTT/DTS PVR but no Freeview / Freesat EPG with that one of course.

There is no law against having both a Freesat and a Freeview PVR and with the savings on Sky subs won't take you long to afford them both.

Very true, I was on 4 mixes + HD so will be saving £34 per month so won't take long to cover it.

Cheers all for the replies - I'll have a look at the Humax.

Indeed - I have both Freesat and Freeview PVRs, both HD capable. We use the DigitalStream Freeview box as our main box and the Grundig Freesat to take up the slack - mainly because the Grundig just ain't as reliable as the DigitalStream.

In essence, if the PVR has good functionality and reliability, the only real differentiators would be the non mainstream channels and any add-on functionality like media streaming (which we don't use).
