Where has this gone? Does the Sky deal with HBO mean that we no longer have access to any of them? And where was the warning? I don't remember seeing one at all and only noticed it was no longer available when I went to watch the last two eps of True Blood.
I'm so gutted. This was one of the few reasons that I stuck with Talk Talk, despite having such a sketchy service and the some of the most patronising customer service agents possible (although not all of them).
I'll call up later to find out what has happened, but I guess I'll either be moving to Sky or Virgin Media now or just going TV-less.

Tiscali's contract for HBO On Demand came to an end this month and HBO have no interest in extending it as Sky bought exclusive VOD rights too - I don't know why when their delivery of VOD content is subpar to other providers. Virgin's contract with HBO ran out last year and BT Vision's will run out next year.

to be honest on BTVision their HBO's content isn't the greatest but they do have the odd gem like Band of Brothers (the Pacific is starting any day now) at least we will get it for at least another year, i'm wondering if the deal with Sky mean't that when each deal expired it cannot be renewed, I wouldn't put it past Sky to try and get even more of a monopoly then it already has

HBO on BT, VM and Tiscali was announced on the same day in 2007 but BT was clever enough to sign up it up the longest. VM had an extra HD option for HBO and Tiscali had HBO films as part of their service. I also remember the monthly marathons they had where they let you watch all episodes of The Wire, Curb Your Enthusism and The Sopranos every month.

I don't understand what benefit Sky get out of locking TV VOD rights too especially when the majority of their customers don't have their HD box or their broadband service needed to access it and shame on HBO for denying access to other platforms. IMHO, HBO on demand was the best thing about VM's service as it was the only place to watch HBO gems in HD for the first time in the UK without ads or an onscreen logo. I have Sky Atlantic but watching HBO content is not the same.

I've already been on the phone to HBO asking whether they'd heard of Seesaw... and maybe they could set up a deal with them in the same way Universal have...

As it's based on iPlayer tech - knocks any Sky offering into a cocked hat.

Interesting, what was their response?

It was helpful that I was speaking to a customer service rep who didn't have Sky - so she was hacked off herselfabout not being able to see Gameof Thrones... she's passing it on to their HQ - we'll see what happens..
