Problems after changing SD card - HTC Desire
Please help!
I moved all my data from my 4gb card to an 8gb card last night. I was then unable to access any of the apps stored on the card. Do they all need to be downloaded again? What about the paid for apps?

Your paid for apps should be in the 'my apps' on the android market. I too was going to upgrade my sd card to an 8gig but you have put me off now.

just back them up with app saver then copy everything from your card to pc then put new card in then copy everything to the new card and use app saver to reinstall the apps
aalso paid for apps should be like iTunes once they recognize that you have purchased them they will just download again without asking for the payment but my way should work tho try a google search on your phone for applanet then open the page and it will download the app and open it, notice all the paid apps are free they have a line through them |

I recently purchased a 16GB card for my desire HD. I copied the contents of my 8GB card to my pc, and then copied all the data to my 16GB card. Everything worked, didnt have to download anything again. Not sure why your phone isnt doing the same? I have you tried putting the original 8GB SD card back in? If so do things work as they should?
I take it the new card is formatted? Another thing you can try, is copy all the apps to the phone, and then copy the contents of the SD card. That way the apps will be in internal memory, and not the card. Once the new card is in, you can move the apps to SD card if you want. |

I'll try copying the apps to the phone first as that sounds easy (how do you do it?????) I did put my 4gb card back in and everything worked fine. I use Overdrive to read library books on my phone and with that not working I had to go back to the old card.
Thanks for all the replies, no doubt i shall be working my way through them.

If anyone is still reading this - the solution was to use a micro adapter and copy the data from the smaller card to the PC then back onto the bigger card. it worked first time.
