OK - a year away, but looking to upgrade TV
Hi folks,
I currently use a 15-inch Philips CRT TV with built-in VHS transport (which died), single SCART at the back... would be looking at replacing that over the course of the next year. However, I see all this comment about the TVs being set up badly in showrooms - so I'm not too sure where to start. It's for the lounge in my flat- I am currently running an LG Freeview HDD/DVD PVR and a Cambridge Audio DV89 DVD player connected through a £20 matrix switch unit to electrically separate out the SCART feeds. I may well buy a Youview unit when they become available. I would like an Internet TV - so I could watch iPlayer, ITV Player etc on the telly as opposed to sitting in front of my laptop. I'm also very likely to join Lovefilm; so wouild like to stream from them as well. Where do I start? And would an engineer come in and install it for me? Connecting it to my router is the easy bit - but I wouldn't know hiow to go about getting the best image from it or balancing it to my flat. My lounge is about 12m by 6-7m; would be viewed from about 6m away. Any and all recommendations would be good - I'd be starting from brass tacks.. all I know is it would need to be widescreen. |
