This is the first time i've really watched it... it all looks very wholesome and "sweet" I wonder if X-Factor will bear any similarity to the UK show.

Indeed, the way they lost his track wasn't very professional imo, but a great way of deliberately casting doubts re him. hmm

lol at the piccy.

Just as Adam was giving big performances in outrageous costumes when Lady Gaga was merely Stefani Germanotta and looking and sounding like Alexis Morrissette trying to be Bob Marley.

Who gives? James auditioned in the same year and in the same city as Adam and wasn't put through, and it's ridiculous that he was put through this year.

I like the way he is coming across while the judges talk to him aswell.”

Casey is the only one left that shows any personality whilst performing, he always lifts my spirits when he performs

It is all very wholesome this year. Their attempt at "dangerous" is a 22 year old dad. Rock and Roll!!!

If you know anything about the way the audtion process for these shows works then you should know that just because someone doesn't make it past the first audition doesn't necessarily mean they're not good enough.

As for the part I've bolded, you're being ridiculous. You're clearly really intimidated by James as some other Adam fans seem to be. If he's nowhere near as good, then you surely have nothing to worry about. Just don't buy his music after the show, simple.

I totally agree with you, it's getting boring

The cleverly edited VT didn't get him eliminated so other attempts must be made. He's proving to be the second strongest thread to the chosen one. Good on Jacob for getting over it and good on the public for apparently not being affected by it.

Mmmmmm totally cringe worthy watching Stefano "trying" to dance

Those backing singers sounded pitchy!

Thanks

Forgetting about Adam for a moment, I find it disappointing that James doesn't seem to get much praise or respect on here. Maybe it's his style, or maybe it's because he is seen as a threat to others.

We sure are back Ryan....larking around with the Judges. Steven and a Hollywood mag gag, was good.

Stefano.....good voice, turned into a groovy kid with those clothes, wholesomeness gone, good thing too.

not a bad performance at all....

Oh please This is the first year I've watched American Idol and I only discovered Adam because I Youtubed him after his name kept being mentioned in comments about James.

Certainly is, as is James.

How can you compare James to Adam then suggest that James doesn't gvet much praise or respect on here because of his style? James doesn't get much praise or respect on here because he is the talent equivalent of skiddy pants.

Who is he supposed to be seen as a threat to exactly?

To be honest you have to earn respect. His voice in nothing out of the ordinary, I have heard much better. I find his performance style uncomfortable to watch and I don't find him charismatic at all. Plus he's just added Danny Gokey like screeching to a song by my favourite band.

Who's he a threat to? Pinky & Perky or the Smurfs?

Certainly is, as is James.”

Not sure what your problem is
Adam was one of my favs and was disappointed he didn't win, but I have NEVER tried to compare James to Adam. They are totally two different performers, and I can't understand why Adam fans have the need to trash James 24/7

I don't know who you're talking about but I don't see any Adam fans trashing James 24/7.

It isn't compulsory to like them both any more than it's compulsory to like all Soul, Country or other genre singers on the show. I can't understand why some feel the need to thrust James down the throat of Adam's fans.

Respect? Isn't that something you earn?

Back to kiss marks on Steven's facial cheeks, via his daughter, nice.

Lauren....back to country, nice voice for it, but song needs something more than it has.

7/10

Audience like it...Steven wants her to sing other types for him.

Jennifer and Randi bigging her up, she can do it.

They all can though given right songs.

Showing clips in case we've forgotten. lol

I'm not the one that initiates the comparisons between them. His style is rock/metal whereas Adam is more pop/rock. He wouldn't be in the top 7, and with a good chance of winning if he wasn't good. Remember, this isn't the X Factor we're talking about here.

Some Adam fans see him as a threat to Adam - it's clear to see.

He's earned my respect. Your favourite band is Muse? James is at least as good a vocalist as Matt Bellamy, who is a himself a poor imitation of Jeff Buckley and Thom Yorke.

Adam Lambert, clearly. Because there isn't room for them both and James doesn't deserve to be there

I'm interested to know - what singers DO you people like? I want to know what your listening standards are.

He's earned the respect of Randy, Steven and Jennifer - 3 people that have been there and done it. He's also clearly earned the respect of a significant portion of America(at least of the voting public). I'm sure he'd be devastated that a few keyboard warriors on a forum he's probably never heard of trash him and don't respect him

As you say they are two different performers which is why lots of Adam fans haven't taken to James. I'm an Adam fan and didn't really have any strong opinions of James at all (apart from the massacre at the end of Uprising). I personally James doesn't have what it takes to be a solo artist there is not enough about him to make him stand out. I think he would probably be better fronting a group of some kind.

Steven re Casey, greater than others. Yeah we know Steven, no need to remind us how the judges feel re Casey.

Show over thank god as it seemed longer than usual.

see you tomorrow folks for the results...fun times eh.

Oh a Happy Easter! No bunny smileys though, and no Easter Eggs either.
