Turbo charger

I'm considering buying a turbo charger for my mobile phone.
There are so many on the market and I'm unsure what to select. Have any of you any experience of using one of these chargers that you could give me tips on please?

From what I have read, you charge these through you computer/lap top. I'm wondering what happens if you are away from home for a while and you don't have access to a system to charge, what happens then?

Thanks

Is this what you mean?

In which case, they are used to charge your phone when you are out and about. I imagine at 5000 mAh capacity, the main unit is charged from the mains not via a pc/laptop.

ive used/use several types of these chargers, if you tell me what you want to charge with it ( ie phone make/model, mp3 player make/model etc), and what the battery capacity is for each device ( usually marked on the battery as as a number ) in Mah then i can let you know.

Hi, firstly tealady, that's exactly the type I want.

Richard, I am mainly going to use it for my samsung apollo phone and maybe my ds lite.
I can't get the back off the phone to see the battery capacity, it's new and I don't want to damage it, not done it before.

Capacity will be in the manual. Apollo is 1500 mAh. Couldn't find much on the DS.

A quick search on google says the Samsung Apollo battery is 1500Mah, and the DS lite is 850mah.

The turbocharger in the link above is rated at 5000Mah.

Ive got a Power moneky explore, rated at 2,200Mah, will charge my phone with a 1,500mah battery ( motorola defy) once fully, and then add about another 10% before its empty, in reality this will extend my phones battery life by 1 day of heavy use

Using a 4x AA USB battery pack with 4 2,500 sanyo XX eneloop batterys my phone will charge once fully, and add an extra 60%, in reality this gives me just under 2 days heavy use.

Using a new trent imp1000 i can get Four days worth of heavy use away from the mains, that is rated at 11000Mah.

Using the Solar panel that came with the power monkey explore, and the battery in an external charger ( cam caddy charger ) i get roughly 10% of charge added for every 2 hours in bright sunglight.

A charger like the one linked to above will probably give you an additional 2 days worth of heavy use, however it may take a while to charge from USB.

The power monkey explore will happily keep lower rated batterys charged for a while, but high drain smart phones push it a little too far.

The New trent 11000mah unit that i have will keep stuff going for four days, but it has to be charged form the mains.

The USb batteyr box will keep things going for 2 days away from power, and it works best with Nimh rechargeable s ( such as eneloop XX) however AA battery's can be picked up almost everywhere all over the world and this could get you out a fix quick.

and then theres in car chargers, USB chargers etc etc on top of that.

Wow, what brilliant information you provided me with there Richard, I can't thank you enough.
I thought of looking on the web regarding the battery but others in the household were using the pc.
I will order today knowing it will be the correct one for my needs.
Thanks a million.
