Out of the Blue - Sat 30th April 2011. Nothing new or original but i predict they will make the semi-finals.

Knew i'd seen this before already and yip here it is! Done miles better where this kind of thing is more popular across the pond (and also played for laughs making it very funny!)

Out of the Blue have been performing for a good number of years - doing the same sort of material - complicated acapella arrangements of pop songs. They aren't claiming to be original - just doing something that others also happen to do.

They won't be in the semi-finals. Contractual problems apparently...

Contractual problems, really? Can you explain further, what's happened? I did like them so it's a shame if they don't get through to the live semi's.

From what I have been told (which is one from a friend of a current member of the group)...

They were presented with the contract to sign that would have allowed them to be considered for the live semis but that it would have prevented them from doing their regular concerts/tours - and so they decided not to sign.

I imagine the production company are pretty tight about controlling what people can and can't do - and given that OOTB are successful enough (they can sell out the local 1500 seat theatre with very little difficulty) - they probably decided that it wasn't worth the risk of signing their life over to a Cowell company for 6 months or a year.

Shame they aren't going to be on the live shows - they were great!
