I should finally being getting my hands on a Foxsat HDR shortly but will initially be using only a single feed.

For recording I will probably just be out and not watching, or will switch to freeview, but I've read about using a loop back from line-1 out to line-2 in which would allow me to record and view some channels at the same time.
Is this loop something that is shipped in the box or do you have to buy one/make one separately?

Would I be able to pause live tv with a single feed regardless of using the loop or not?

Many thanks

You'll have to make one. I only have a single feed at the moment and a loop is something I need to do. I'd rather get a duel or quad LNB but it's too much hassle as I don't get the time to set one up...

Thanks.
I take it you can pause live tv with single feed as you're still only viewing/recording one channel?

Yes that should be fine.
The box will detect single LNB use - and if you add a second later you will have either to do a factory reset (loss of schedules, seetings but not recordings) or manually set the connection to two cable - same via one of the secret menus.
You should note that it will assume that you have the loop set up and will show you possibilites that won't work if you have not.

Under the right circumstances you can record two at once and live pause some third channels as well.

Thanks all for the replies. Is there somewhere I can buy a cheap, small loop for this?

I take it it's just like a very short satellite cable with an f-connector on each end?
Could try making one if it's easy enough to do.

It's very simple to make one. Google fitting a f connector, normally you would need sat grade cable but for such a short length a piece of low loss coax will probably be fine.

A short Satellite cable from Maplin or your nearest DIY store will do - just leave it curled it. Depending where you are in the country you may be able to cope with it without a new LNB. In Yorkshire for example all of the main (non HD) channels are together so no problems with a single LNB

I actually have a quad lnb but as this is our first PVR all our boxes only have single feeds.

Hopefully it would only be a temporary solution until I can get the time to run another cable in.
