I like some of the Black Eyed Peas stuff but that's more down to Fergie's contribution rather than Will's

he's managed to wangle himself onto American Idol too "advising" the contestants along with Jimmy Levine on song choice and arrangement ... not sure how he got that job .. lol

I think its more likely he just doesn't care enough about XF UK to give a stuff that she didnt actually win. I suspect for him too its more about Cheryl rather than Cher and in the move to big her up for the US, whats a bit of uninformed running off at the mouth about a UK show he doesnt need?

Having said that though I wish them both well. Cher and Cheryl I mean - not Will.i Am and anyone!”

I bet you he couldn't name any winner of XF (including Leona) - I just think he's ill-informed and all he knows about the show (other than it pays big money for guest stars, I assume) is through Cheryl

Is Fergie responsible for "Where is the Love"? That's the only BEP's track that I like. For me, most of their stuff ranges between acceptable background music on car radio to complete sh*t. Too often their tracks appear to be just ripping off really decent songs so that they have a melody against which to do their own stuff - which can't stand up on it's own merits.

That said - one of the backstage vids of the Saturday final showed Will i Am telling Matt that he could sing well - I doubt if those comments were meant to be a snub to Matt - probably a more a case that he can't count.

It isn't only about money for the guest acts - it's also the biggest paltform in the UK to showcase your latest tracks. There are very few shows on mainstream TV these days where artists can get airtime/publicity - nothing in the line that TOTPs used be.

Where is the Love - The song was written by Will.i.am, Taboo, apl.de.ap, Ron Fair, P. Board, G. Pajon Jr, M. Fratantuno, and J. Curtis, and co-produced by will.i.am and Ron Fair.

Thanks Wikipedia

I gotta Feeling was a great track to be fair

I read in the Daily Fail last week - article about Simon bagging all the money, that acts pay to appear on XF - 60K a pop - good value I guess.

Sick of all this "Cher's the real winner" bs.”

I read that last night in The Sun, but I didn't see it as a dig at Matt, just that this bloke is a bit of an idiot Simon and Cheryl... two most-loved judges? Really? Most people seemed fed up of them last year

oh yeah .. I remember seeing that clip too .. I think Will is probably wrapped up in himself and his genre/people he's working with

Will wrote Where Is The Love but it's their first single after Fergie joined ... I like her and her vocals .. II like Meet Me Half Way and I like a couple of their dancy songs .. love My Humps and Boom Boom Pow .. just because they're good to bop along too .. lol

but wasn't keen on their last one sampling Dirty Dancing

It's a personal taste issue sometimes. Actually I like loads of stuff that has been dismissed as rubbish on this thread - sometimes a tune catches you and you like it, even if you can accept that it's hardly an artistic masterpiece. (And sometimes things that are considered to be generally accepted as great - I just don't like).

It's a shame that there aren't many primetime evening shows for arists to promote themselves on ... I miss TOTP .. they all seem to have to go on daytime shows like Titchmarsh or the morning shows which don't air to as many people as the evening shows ... I think the only shows at the minute are Graham Norton and Alan Carr

Same here diamond it is a shame there sould be at least one primetime on which these artists might promote themselves. If it is true that they pay to go on XF well I cannot see why they don't start between themselves to start something in order for them all to have go.

Yeah myself included! Dannii deserves more recognition as a favourite, I've seen much more praise for her as a judge than any of the others.

Gosh yeah that thing was a crime! I destest that it's playing on Matt's winner's interview on Xtra Factor Not a fan of BEP anyway but that was their worst.

I used to love TOTP in the old days .. not just for the established artists but it used to be great seeing the new up and coming peeps for the first time and the buzz that followed some of them .. I remember when Culture Club first appeared on TOTP .. I was mesmorised by Boy George .. loved Do You Really Want To Hurt me ... and all the talk the next day was whether he was a boy or a girl

Boy George is someone who I think is realy under rated as a song writer .. he's written some fabulous stuff and some of the songs he wrote for the muscal Taboo are fantastic with really moving lyrics

I like all sorts of "crap" but I don't hold it out to be great and that is the thing that annoys me. Just cos something is popular doesn't mean its high quality. That was my point about Jessie J - she can write successful catchy tunes but she's not a great songwriter.

I love paranormal fiction but it's not great literary work!

I like some of BEP stuff (well OK I like I've got a feeling) but Will I Am himself if a bit of a wierdo - this is the man who calls Cheryl Cole a good songwriter.

Now unlike a lot of others I like Cheryl - but come on!!!

I think I'm in the "he can't count" camp
